Judging by the current site traffic at the store it's going to be a tough race to beat.

I don't exactly get what you're complaining about here. Do you have some form of an issue understanding the term "this weekend", or what?
-
It is a C compiled plugin.
-
No offense guys, but lets keep this on topic. Feel free to PM over it!

As has been stated, in essentially every test case we have seen FPS are much better with SkyMaxx Pro than that of default clouds This product works in both HDR and 64-bit mode. Almost all shots we show are with HDR off to exemplify that you do not need HDR working in order to get all the beautiful, visual effects this product offers. That said, I will shortly post some shots with HDR as well. With HDR on, due to the higher contrast of the sim in this mode, the clouds are at times noticeably brighter (a natural HDR effect on the sim as a whole). We are working with Laminar at this time to allow us more control in HDR to get this how we want it. To be more precise, the current interface for plugins in X-Plane doesn't allow a plugin to know what stage of rendering the sim is in when HDR is active, which makes it difficult to match the tone mapping of our clouds to the rest of the scene. It by NO means looks bad or horrible, and performance is not degraded, but from a personal preference standpoint I like it better with HDR off. In order to "fix" this, Laminar will be implementing special features in the plug-in SDK so that we may interact with X-Plane's rendering process after X-Plane has applied its own tone-mapping on the scene. This will then allow us to overlay our already tone-mapped clouds on top of the final scene without HDR trying to brighten them up with the rest of the world as it already does. As soon as Laminar implements the necessary items in the SDK, we'll be on it and release a free update to make HDR look even better! As John has now pointed out, X-Aviation.com will be selling this software.

Workweek = Monday - Friday "The weekend is a time period including Saturday and Sunday. Some people extend the weekend to Friday nights as well." Thank Wikipedia, not me.

Can you please make your signature smaller?

Now you're never going to sleep, and with a whole extra day left in the weekend for us guys in the US at that!
-
We're too busy flying around the skies and not working, of course.

All data comes from the same data you already use. It's how things are rendered that are made better, so any plugins (like NOAA) that you already use will work seamlessly with this add-on!

Videos and Screenshots below! Hi, Captains!, As we get closer to launch of SkyMaxx Pro (how does this weekend sound? ), I wanted to highlight some of the great screenshots and videos already taken in X-Plane 10 with this amazing sky rendering engine! First, let's go over what SkyMaxx Pro is and what it means for you as an X-Plane user! SkyMaxx Pro is an amazing new sky/cloud/weather rendering engine which overrides X-Plane's visual weather rendering (clouds, sky colors, etc) in order to provide you with an ultra realistic sky environment. This is all achieved with the use of a custom plug-in which also integrates seamlessly into X-Plane's weather menus and options so that you have a very minimal learning curve when it comes to using this amazing add-on. In fact, once it's installed you really don't have to do anything different than to set your weather just as you always have in X-Plane! This said, we realize that a lot of people have different perceptions as to what a sky should look like, so we also include a wonderful user interface for this plug-in which lets you adjust sky colors, crepuscular rays, how the clouds move, and more! With all of these options available to you, not only do you get an amazing sky environment, but you also get it how YOU want it. All of this is coupled with the fact that almost every one of our testers notices an increase in FPS over that of the default cloud engine supplied with X-Plane! To give you an idea of the user interface, here's a quick screenshot of what it looks like from within sim: Again, it's really important to stress here that this user interface is optional to use. SkyMaxx Pro works SEAMLESSLY with the already existing weather menus you know how to use. There's nothing new to learn here other than picking up your jaw in amazement after seeing this product work its magic! SkyMaxx Pro introduces clouds aloft with wind speed, crepuscular rays, and full 3D clouds. In my opinion, it's quite literally the missing piece to the puzzle of X-Plane 10 to really make it feel like a complete, beautiful sim environment! Some of you may be seeing this add-on for the first time, so lets get to some screenshots showing this product in action (videos down below as well): Want to see some videos? Check these videos showcasing SkyMaxx Pro out!... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZiQ-mrazPU We're really excited to get this out to you, folks, so stay tuned! Release is near!

Huh? This topic is the IXEG 737...
-
Sounds to me like MSFS X is your sim!

Thanks for the response, Tom. This is a bit more what I was hoping to hear.

I didn't question your honesty. I questioned whether you read subsequent posts; something you declined to quote. As for association and your caring about it, it seems to me that you have some form of care as you tried to roll up your argument with labeling X-Aviation customers being conditioned to patience. This is why you received the response you got with regards to association, and furthermore, it's unfair of you to roll anyone other than yourself in as an X-Aviation customer based on assumption. I would easily assume you to not know who is or is not such a customer at all times. This forums' reach often times extends beyond that of XA customers. I do find it ridiculous that Tom Knudsen would decline to purchase a product over something like nav data which is far more advanced and very capable compared to what already exists in X-Plane. There's no contradiction going on. I'm not questioning patience, I'm questioning whether Tom Knudsen would really follow through with not purchasing something if Aerosoft data never comes to fruition. Quite probable, and valid. You're in here blabbering your dismay on me, and likewise I'm in here questioning an individual's response with what I honestly feel is rather ridiculous and have no problem saying as my own opinion. I'm truly interested in still hearing Tom Knudsen's response to this. As for the personal chatter you and I have going, it's really not fair to IXEG and I suggest that should you wish to further discuss it we take it to PM. Until then, back on topic, and congratulations to IXEG for another awesome demonstration in video 2!

I, in no way shape or form, represent IXEG. I have no clue where this product is bound for release or distribution. Tom is one of many individuals working on this project, which I have nothing to do with. Being patient is not what's in question, and if you took the time to read what I said, I would hope you would realize that I question one's choice to not purchase an add-on they clearly think is so good solely based on the premise that it contains one navigation dataset (which is leap years ahead that of XP, and is used by tons of MSFS products) over another like Aerosoft (which happens to be really quite new). Considering my non-association to this product, I am simply stating my opinion. Perhaps you need to read my followup response.
-
Tom K. is neither committing nor denying implementing Aerosoft. All he is committing to is looking into the feasibility of it. That said, I'm genuinely curious...if it never gets implemented and remains Navigraph, will you really never buy it?
-
X-Plane data sucks. Anything more and you're just being ridiculous at that point. Aerosoft is no doubt better than Navigraph, but to prevent yourself from purchasing quite literally the most advanced simulation I have seen for any sim over *that* is ridiculous.
-
Hueyman, Your images suggest that perhaps your CPU is "bored" and constantly waiting for your GPU to catch up, thus you are in some form or fashion GPU bound. This could be for various reasons, chief among them resolution. The data that X-Plane shows in the rendering settings menu for VRAM is not a good indicator at all as to how your card is performing or if it's even struggling. What is your monitor resolution here?
-
Elements should be fine. Gimp is also a great alternative!

You can assign to buttons. Go into the Joystick Menu and click on Buttons: Adv. From here in the upper right you will see 'custom cmds from plugins' with an empty grey box next to it. Clicking this will bring up a menu, where you will find 'LES' and a list of commands you can assign to your joystick buttons.

Indeed. Looks like Sprint has invested a lot of money in aftermarket hardware for their 'A' variants. It's quite clear in those images that the center pedestal was re-configured quite a bit in order to accommodate that setup.
-
Peter, I cannot vouch for Sprint. I have never been in their aircraft. What I can tell you is I have sat in the jumpseat of many Saab 340s over the years and have never seen an FMC in any of them except for the B variant. Some A's had added GPS (like a 530), but that's as far as it went. You can certainly look up images on the Internet. Out of the factory, Saab never sold an A with such hardware, and that's a fact.
