There was no transparency changed, and no texture files adjusted. Are you running in HDR mode? This is where you would noticed a change, because the tone mapping in HDR was WAY off in version 1.0, which caused the clouds to be much brighter than they should be. This update fixes the issue and where in the callback/buffer of X-Plane the clouds get rendered. Non-HDR and HDR should essentially be uniform now, where as in 1.0 the HDR clouds were vastly (and nastily) different to Non-HDR. Nothing was stripped in order to get our frame rate improvements. The code was only optimized in how it renders in X-Plane, thus we see huge gains as a reward for hard efforts.

Most welcome, Mat! I'm glad to hear we could turn this around for the better for you!
-
I know I speak on behalf of all of us involved when I say "Thank You!" Enjoy!
-
Glad to hear!

Mac or Windows? I am definitely seeing them working in 1.1 on this end. They were completely absent in 1.0.
-
Awesome! Thanks for sharing your positive results!
-
Awesome! Are you sure you're talking about the right thing? The visibility issue we are addressing is here. I've just tried this. Orbit textures are definitely working.
-
So to make sure I understand you, at the end of every 1 minute you get a decrease/stutter and then it goes back up? Mac or Windows? I'm going to try to reproduce this as best I can. I'm assuming the 670M is a 2GB variant? What monitor resolution? Also, in your Operation and Settings menu how many flight models per frame do you have set, and what aircraft are you flying around with?

We don't touch weather injection at ALL, so can you elaborate what you mean by "worse"? Version 1.1 uses considerably less resources due to how it now renders. There is literally no reason in the world performance should be worse or even the same, so lets get to the bottom of this.
-
Hi, Marty!, If you are already CPU or GPU bound prior to SkyMaxx then you won't have much to gain here. What video card do you have, and what CPU, and what monitor resolution are you running at? On second thought...try a computer restart as well. We just had a user who reported that FPS drastically improved on his system after doing such. Either way, so far this topic is showing that 1.1 is a winner thus far.
-
Nothing wrong with that! Your choice entirely! Already multiple fantastic reports posted from customers, so I know you're missing out.

1.1 was just released. It doesn't solve this weather pause (inherent with X-Plane), but it solves FPS issues as well as a multitude of others. You may want to check it out! The pausing is caused by the way that X-Plane loads real weather. It is highly dependent on one's system how long such a pause will last, however, it is even present in default clouds. The reason you notice it more here is because SkyMaxx Pro will load no two clouds the same, thus it takes more time for your CPU to compute what goes where and your GPU to draw these newly rendered clouds. The pause takes place when real weather decides it's time to load new METAR data from the closest station. The way to solve this will be a weather injector in the future. I personally don't have bad pauses, but a number of users do when the new real weather loads. We're continually looking into this, but for now, X-Plane rules how this takes place and we're stuck in its "cell".

Run the 1.1 installer. It will take care of everything for you.

Closing this topic now. SkyMaxx Pro 1.1 has now been released!
-
Hi, Piet, You should not need to re-install anything on Windows to run products as they are. Keep in mind, however, this may impact your uninstallers located in X-Plane/X-Aviation. These are crucial for upgrades being run properly.

Magic, of course.

Hello, Captains!, Today I would like to go over what you can expect in version 1.1 of SkyMaxx Pro. We anticipate this to be released within the next 24 hours, so keep an eye here or on your email inboxes! We have really appreciated all of the constructive feedback from our users, as well as the endless amount of compliments streaming in via our e-mail channels. All of you guys are awesome for being passionate enough to want to help us improve this product further! With the above said, here's what we have coming to you in version 1.1: 1. Huge performance increases across the board! This includes both HDR and Non-HDR modes, with usual scenarios seeing near double frame rates in HDR mode on our local machines. 2. HDR mode fixes for tone map coloring. Clouds will now essentially look the same between HDR and Non-HDR! 3. Orbit textures are back 4. New dawn and dusk transitions. This means that the black clouds are no more, which we know many of you disliked. We've listened. 5. The high setting on overcast has now been altered. We now employ volumetric metaballs for a better appearance. 6. Visibility issues have been solved. People were unable to properly adjust visibility in some scenarios, and we've put this bug to death. We really look forward to getting this update out to you. It solves many of your requests and concerns, so I think most of you will be very pleased. Thanks again for your help in helping us to bring you a better product!

All of this looks normal. You'll need to be more descriptive as to when/how/where the crash occurs.

Uninstalling Skymaxx , cannot use it as IFR weather training

We take all criticism and feedback seriously. I think you'll be very pleased with what's coming. -
Can't for the life of me get an engine to start
Cameron replied to Rexxxy77's topic in Douglas DC-3 (no longer in use)
Chuck, Something really seems amiss with your install. Things like Airspeed definitely work.... Can you post a log file for us? -
Service ceiling vs. step climbing...you will not find these aircraft ever flying at these altitudes.
-
The service ceiling for this aircraft is 25,000ft.
-
Already been addressed. See my thread in the SkyMaxx screenshot forum.

We're on it!
