I prefer the nice flavour of the $20 bills but pie will do, I supposed.

Alright all you jokers... I'm going to school to become an aircraft structure maintenance person next year, I need the money for school. It is essentially a way of me saying "people are willing to give for this." That way I don't feel like I'm just giving giving giving with no return. Giving with no return is fine until it actually takes away from time you could be working.

I ran across this when originally developing orthoscenery. The most likely reason is that those polygons are layered below the taxiway by accident. Open the polygon file in a text editor and check the layer specification. It should be runways +1 or +2 or something.

Hello everyone, I am extremely proud to announce a freeware/payware project that will make flying in Southern British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, and Idaho so much more fun and realistic when flying VFR. So far I have nearly completed my "practise" airport of KTTN and the surrounding area, it is quite successful. With the release of version 1.5 I will begin the creation of Langley VFR, which will include both CYNJ and CYXX as well as photoscenery and every landmark on the VTA within Langley and the sectional in Langley. Also included will be expanses of photoscenery into Abbotsford (not as far north as Chilliwack). Acquiring the area scenery will be free while acquiring CYNJ and CYXX will be, if all goes as planned, between $5 and $7. The Langley area scenery will be my last freeware scenery and a preview of the rest of the Pacific Northwest Scenery Project. Included in Langley will be Whiterock (to sample coastlines) and Manning Park Resort and Skihill (to sample what mountains will look like, summer only). Future photoscenery areas will never exceed $5 apiece, my goal is to make extremely affordable scenery. Another thing about this project is contribution. If you'd like something portrayed with orthophotos in Washington, Oregon or Idaho, please let me know on my website under the landmarks section. Please make sure that I do not already have it in the list before requesting. Give the people what they want! If you contribute in a serious way (creating buildings for an airport, you'll get free things (free stuff is AWESOME) and a LOT of credit for it. I just do airport layouts and orthophotos. My website is http://pnws.weebly.com. I will create two more freeware small airports for practise before releasing Langley VFR, so two lucky commenters will get free orthoscenery at the small airport of their choice. Colin S PNWS

My friend's dad was the pilot of the last Air Canada flight out of Kai Tak.

Canada! Great pics.

SQL Error That's the message I get.
-
Alright, so the message is above the area where the "Attach File" button is, in a red area embedded directly in the webpage. Thanks!
-
Even after compression it won't upload at all, just gives me an error.

I have been trying to upload an orthoscenery that I worked on for well over 12 hours to the X-Pilot servers but I can't make it work. The file is 110.1MB and a Zip compression. Itcompletes the upload then says there was a problem with the file although on my computer there are no flaws with the scenery or the Zip. I packaged it with marfinal's utility. Any suggestions?

Here are a couple of new pictures. The final version will be 5x as high resolution and will be available next Monday. Cheers!

Thanks Peter.

KTTN, Trenton Essentially, this is a practice airport that was requested by another X-Planer before I start the grand adventure of payware products, just to make sure I can do this still. All imagery will be from the USGS and is completely and entirely public domain. The resolution of the Orthophotos is about 1pix:7inch, but I'm not entirely sure yet. There will be a custom apt.dat file, with everything perfectly placed on the scenery. For this particular airport, there will be NO 3D buildings (yet), as I need to get started on the actual PNWS as soon as possible. Here is the website: http://pnws.weebly.com/ Pictures: If you have any questions, message me on this forum. Comments may not be read by me, or may be. I don't know yet how much time I will have to be reading these things. Colin S

This is the view of the mountains from the top of Gibson's Pass Skihill. It looks exactly like real life.

So here it is: I visited the absolutely stunning island of Kauai back in March and discovered that it was the most amazing place on earth to fly. I never did get the honor to fly in a helicopter over the majestic mountains and valleys, but the hiking I did said enough. Kauai as it is presented in X-Plane 10, even with AlpilotX's awesome HD2 Mesh, simply doesn't do the real thing any justic with its pine trees and temperate ground textures. The real Kauai calls for even deeper greens than those found in the original version 9 texture packages. The first clue was that everything was yellow-grey-green. I will be using my own photographs as well as free online resources for the development of this project. Some of it will be legaly redistributed freeware components, but most will be absolutely original. I unfortunately own no orthophotos, so if you do or know someone who does, please notify me because it would render this project the greatest ever created. That being said, my plan is to create orthophotos that fit just right onto the still slightly inaccurate X-Plane 10 terrain. If you are any good at 3D modelling that is all I really could use a bit of backup on since there will be a lot of it. I want at least 100 different houses to build my neighbourhoods out of and I plan to build hotels the way they look. Don't expect this project to even show a hint of progress until mid September, if it's any earlier I'll be drunk with a hippo dancing to Justin Bieber (and that's me dancing, not the hippo). Anyway, this website will eventually outline my progress and plans for the herculean task: WEBSITE HAS SINCE BEEN DEACTIVATED Please stay tuned and leave suggetions, resources, help, anything! I'm sort of new to this but I'm quite good at the things I HAVE done. I will be doing some side projects along the way. -Colin

I`m still never leaving X-Plane.

Man, if that was in X-Plane 10... it would be as close to real as I would want it to get. You guys seen the pictures on the .org

I am a new aircraft developer but I have been creating 3D objects for over 3 years and am VERY good at it now. There's just one problem: How do you create buttons in a 3d cockpit, and how do you tell it where to put different gauges, etc? If you could walk me through it it would be even better... anyways, I really want to create extremely detailed 3D cockpits for aircraft, so please help if you can. Thanks

Of ALL aircraft available, payware OR freeware regardless, what would you say was the MOST realistic airplane available? and what would the most realistic AIRLINER be?
-
Where will it be available... the X-Plane.org Store?

I own Microsoft Flight Simulator X, and I like the way they have auto-buildings at all the airports. Is there some way I could convert the default scenery into X-Plane Scenery?

I was a short-time user of MSFSX, and I can start by saying one thing: There was only two things better about it than X-Plane 9.xx. (1) AI Aircraft: Wonderful yet absolutely needless to say pointless... the big deal about MSFSX was that you could fly online... so why does one truly require fake people flying around a horribly-rendered fake world? (2) 3D Clouds: I can't dis this in any way- they got it right there. No need to say it's about the only awesome thing about MSFSX. But, there are countless reasons for which MSFSX is inferior to to X-Plane 9.xx. I'll let you decide... please leave anything you hate about MSFSX, or something they didn't have, or something X-Plane portrayed much better. I will start by saying that the idea of putting you right into the simulator at the beginning instead of a stupid welcome screen with elevator music was ingenious. I know lots more, but anyways, please leave what you love about X-Plane in comparison to MSFSX. This thread is not to be confused with the "Best of the Best" thread. In this thread, please leave comparisons... maybe even to other flight simulators, too!

These are great icons- if I had the aircraft. Where can I find such realistic models of these amazing icons?
