  1. What's that music? It's amazing!
  2. I couldn't stop.. I went on with the club house and restaurant too. It needs fine tuning like the hangars before it's done, but you get the baisc idea. This render illustates how it'll look after the fine tuning.
  3. Did one more hangar and the building between them. Notice how the light from the buildings casts light to the building in the middle. The christmas feeling is coming over me when I fly around this place. Wooohoo!
  4. And two hours later with some fiddling and testing and tweaking to get it more or less right.
  5. No new models. But I've started looking at the possibility of making kick ass night textures. Here's a render of what you can expect. There's four of these hangars which belongs to Inaer, and there's a Pepsi machine which also have some sort of self illuminating light fixtures, and there's a lamp on the curved hangar which will throw some light on the ground. I think this will add a lot to the mood, even though there's no lights on the runway, it will certainly be cool to make an evening flight here. Oh, and you read this first at x-pilot, not .org or any other site.
  6. Thank you. Muchamiel isn't done yet. I need to add a few more buildings, fences all over the place, and some boxes and crates and containers.. But it's getting there. I lack some photos. Worst case, I just leave it and release the damn airfield.
  7. A sneak peak of Muchamiel in motion, along with the Sequoia Falco. Any comments in regards of the video goes along with the thread with the video please. http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=1321.0
  8. FINALLY had some time to sit down and relax, with X-Plane, Fraps and some editing. Might not be the best lighting conditions for the video, I usually fly with "use current time" ON. Tried to lighten them in editing.. Here we go! The video is available in 720p.
  9. I understand what you're writing there. I've hardly come across images of the terminal in profile though. Something I've usually done is use Google Earth to measure width and length, then adjust height and compare it to the height of known airplane types I see in the perspective views.
  10. Wow, looks nice. Gotta look out for the smoothing there though. Have you used Bing Maps? Zoom in a little and use "Birds eye" view. It can give some more details, but not all. It comes in handy! I've never known exact height myself. Buth LEMU and LEAL were modeled based on what I saw and scale in relation to other things, like planes. I could see a B737 next to a gate. Fine, I dug up some info about height on different places of the plane, and compared it to my model, then adjusting accordingly. It's not perfect, it may be tedious and can cause problems - BUT it's a step forward.
  11. I removed everything except XTraffic. Still nothing. I can see the number, but no actual geometry, lights, nothing to indicate there's someone else near me.
  12. I had recorded ONE plane. And then I went into the Aircraft and Situations settings, the number was already set at 9. The instructions at Sandy Barbours site said I should set this to "one more than the number of planes" I want to use with the plugin. I'll move all plug-ins except xtraffic, see if it does wonders. But then again, what's the reason if I can't use the Saitek plugin, or GPS, or FOV-loader..
  13. The reason it didn't work was becauase I didn't go into Aircraft and Situations. My mistake. :-) edit Well.. Even though I did go into there (the number was set at 9) I increased it to 10. Nothing happened. No airplane is showing up. :-\ I'm out of ideas.. So I found this video... And there's a screen... My Aircraft and Situations don't look anything like that. The lower part at my screen is totally blank. I can set number of aircraft 1-20, and I can assign one of four teams. But there's nothing else. What the heck is wrong?
  14. One more. This time presenting the modeling process with it's trials and errors instead of a render. [vimeo]15559014[/vimeo]
  15. Some times I just model to kill some time and test new techniques, or maybe just a concept. I'll make this thread as a showoff or a collection for inspiration if you'd like. First up: a huge office building.
  16. Added some minor details like lamps..
  17. Good to know. I'll definitely submit some airports that should've been placed or updated..
  18. This is Årø, Molde Lufthavn. Just messing around really. I found a new map service for Norway which has superior quality compared to both Bing and Google, and have newer data than the mentioned ones. All in all, I'm happy with a couple of hours effort. The rest is basically details like lamps and signs, and then finally the texturing.
  19. "JWW Duchess, airport in sight" …"To our left we have downtown Bergen" Landing pretty soon.. And we're safe on the ground! Now this is a trip I won't forget for a while…
  20. For the first time in a couple of months, I mounted the yoke, switch panel and throttle up on the desk. I've been busy with work, moving to a apartment in a new city and haven't had time to really enjoy and relax while flying. I was scheduled to go from ENML (Molde Lufthavn, Årø) to ENSG (Sogndal), about 30 minutes flight, but it ended up taking a little more than an hour. And here's the story why. A crew of photographer, producer and director had scheduled a flight southbound to scout for possible locations and possibilities for aerial photography for a new TV show, and they would take a hike up to one of the highest mountains near the destination to get an idea of what it would be like for the participants of the cast and crew. Nice weather. Some clouds in the sky. No problem taking off from Årø. I set the autopilot on climb and went for a cup of tea. Came back, still climbing and turning towards the first waypoint of the route I had set up in the GPS. We followed a valley… …that connected to other valleys…. …and inbetween the clouds we could see the river curl its way between the mountains… Due to the clouds the team didn't get much of a view of so many locations, but they were on a schedule and had to get to the destination as planned. The clouds opened as a curtain for us, and we could see the fjords right under us. We were right on time. Contacted ATC.. "…to land on runway 24". I heard nothing. No static, no nothing. Only deadly silence. "This is JWW Duchess, approaching Sogndal runway 24 to land".
  21. I moved to Trondheim, in Norway. The planes come in from all angles on approach to Værnes (ENVA) Have a nice vacation!
  22. How's the Dash coming? I've moved to the city now, and most planes have their approach right above the roof, especially the props often fly over here. Made me think of your project. Looking forward to it!
  23. Any news about when this update will be available? If it is, shouldn't we get an email telling us it's ready for download?
  24. I' m having problems taxiing when I use mouse only. Often I tend to just take any plane for a ride without all the trouble of connecting and rigging the yoke and pedals. So the mouse and keyboard is my joystick, buttons and knobs. I experience it's very difficult to turn during taxiing with the Mentor. In external view the nose wheel barely turns at all! How do you experience this with pedals? I haven't had the chance to check it myself since I'm currently not at home...
  25. Well, all you do in WED requires a mouse. I guess it's humor.
