The GizmoLog is just full of this line "debug: 731.415: No license for: (SilverLiningV4.Clouds)", it just keeps spamming that line over and over again.
-
Yeah, getting that too. The license box will not stay closed, just keeps opening.
-
Okay, seems to be working now. Installing as we speak.
-
Yeah, download link not working, it's just plain text.
-
Aaaaand it's out
-
Alright thanks, appreciate the reply.

How does RealScenery fit within these new activation policies, are they still expiring and requires additional purchases to re-activate or will they also become unlimited and manual activation?
-
They just announced an update to their activation system. Maybe they had to get that change announced and out the door, before this update was released.

Shadows seen through clouds, no horizon rendering and fog issues
Sethos replied to Sethos's topic in SkyMaxx Pro v4
Might be a stupid question but couldn't you somehow force-render the clouds then, beyond the reported visibility range, to close that gap then? At least make it an extended option? And I'll mess around with the blending option. -
So I made a quick impressions thread over on Reddit's Flight Sim sub. Cameron suggest I brought up these issues here. My first issue is; it doesn't seem to be able to render to-the-horizon? I've been using badbadweather.com to find some nice METARs to test with. Especially the thunderstorm section has been of interest. However, ever single METAR I've tested, I have yet to see the clouds actually reaching the horizon. I'm still only seeing a circle; https://gfycat.com/DismalLividDeinonychus Then I realised, the cloud coverage slider wasn't actually the range of the clouds but rather the density? Default settings; https://gfycat.com/LargeBackDodobird Max settings; https://gfycat.com/MistyOrneryGoral Still circle rendering in both instances. Question is; how it's supposed to work or an issue on my end? Second issue; Seeing quite a few ground shadows through my clouds. It's not always there but it happens often enough for me to notice it; https://abload.de/img/1s4ulu.jpg -- It's also visible in the "Default settings" GFY above, on the initial picture. Third issue; Fog still seems to magically disappear / re-appear as you de- and ascend. It obviously should fade away as you get above it but the ground obviously shouldn't be visible underneath? I assume it has to actually connect to the clouds above or something like that, so there's no "magical" layer in between. https://gfycat.com/JollyPhonyHeifer Running X-Plane 11 beta 2 with a lot of scenery but plugin and addon wise, it's very barebone, here's my log; https://www.dropbox.com/s/m40lztpb4c0fvi0/Log.txt?dl=0 -- Also running latest RWC with default settings, grabbing X-Plane 11's real weather settings. Hope to get some clarification, maybe some of it is tied to X-Plane 11, perhaps even something on my end. Cloud models look great and I'm seeing a lot of potential, above mentioned problem aside

SkyMaxx Pro v4 Previews - December 4th, 2016!
Sethos replied to Cameron's topic in General Discussion
We're getting it Monday, right Cameron? Cameron pls -
Oh okay, that's good to hear. Thanks for the quick answers. I shall withdraw and await the release of SMP4 this weekend ... it's this weekend, right Cameron? right?
-
That sounds great. It's not a showstopper by any means but a bit of tweaking would be nice. But, LR might indeed be changing it. Seems like a general mention from a lot of users. The way you worded that last part about RC for X-Plane 11, will your initial release will be X-Plane 10 only? or will the release be compatible with both, with the footnote that the X-Plane 11 version isn't final? I certainly wouldn't mind trying it out on an 'early access / paid beta' sort-of stage.
-
Guess we'll just have to wait. Has X-Plane's own engine been improved? I remember it had some weird turbulence responses in X-Plane 10.
-
Wait, really? Dammit.

Well, I can tell you, they aren't very experienced if they recommend those settings It's all snake oil, probably brought on by years of FSX / P3D use. And yes, the three settings I mentioned are the only ones working and they are all recommended. Threaded Optimisation 'off' makes a huge difference. You are better off resetting that profile. Extended DSF means it loads additional tiles around you. Instead of 3x2 tiles, it now loads 4x3 tiles, which increases load times, decreases performance and worst of all, can add a lot of stuttering, especially when it draws new titles. In some cases I would see a 60-70% performance hit. Not sure if it's permanently removed from X-Plane 11 or it's one of those settings that will make its return, alongside more fine-grain control over scenery options etc. but it appears that X-Plane 11 handles distant scenery much better. Flying at high altitudes in X-Plane 10, without extended DSF, out of the box, would give you some big nasty brown splodges in the distant. X-Plane 11 seems to do a much better blend, so I don't think extended DSF will be necessary.
-
First off, most of those Nvidia Control Panel settings simply don't work with X-Plane, due to it being OpenGL. Power management mode, multi-display and threaded optimization is the only ones that really work. Secondly, you should turn off Extended DSF. Takes a huge toll on your system.

It is I, Cameron, your Reddit pestilence But seriously, it's looking good. My question is, will you be modifying the current haze values of X-Plane 11? I find them to be a bit much at dusk / dawn, so I was wondering if SMP would be modifying them as part of its weather depiction?

That worked, got my auto-reply. Thank you

Hello, I just wrote a ticket regarding an activation error, "All license slots used". Last time I wrote a ticket, I got a "Ticket Created" message after sending the support request. This time, I didn't get anything. Is that normal or should I definitely be getting a ticket confirmation? I don't want to be sending multiple emails

I got it worked out. Just had to remove the FLATTEN.pol as well.

So I picked up the 29 Palms airport from X-aviation. Great little strip, good detail. Problem is, I've started dabbling with building my own ortho and obviously, it doesn't match the stuff used in 29 Palms at all. So I was wondering, how do I remove all the 29 Palm ortho scenery, so I can use my own? Obviously keep the airport and everything else. I tried deleting the two ortho folders but that just gives me an error, then stops loading the entire airport.

Hello, First off I'm new to X-Plane and all its addons, so I do apologize if this is a different issue entirely. I tested on various default planes but I can't reproduce the issue. Everything seems to be working well with this plane except one thing, when pulling back on my joystick ( T.16000M ), the elevators keep snapping back to default position, basically resetting despite my stick being pulled all the way back. It's impossible to fly at the moment, almost impossible to get off the ground. Pushing forward and everything else works perfectly but pulling back on the stick and they just constantly reset. I tried recalibrating several times and the calibration is spot-on. I've deleted the X-Plane settings and started over from default. I've tried a different USB port and I even installed the drivers off Thrustmasters site to no avail. Only way I can make this go up is by trimming. Am I missing something here?
