  1. I've got TOO many addons ;D
  2. Today I was doing some cleaning up on my HDD, and just for fun I wanted to see how much my X-Plane folder weighed... Here's the result... If you can beat that, post a screenshot of the details of your X-Plane folder ;D
  3. Cloud 9 KLAX works like a charm, great fps results as well.
  4. All our thoughts are with you and your country, Ola. May they all rest in peace.
  5. Thanks for all the advice everyone! I'm definitely going to look at the Bose no interest program, because it sounds like those A20s really are the best! If not, then I'll buy a David Clark headset
  6. Thanks Nicola! Definitely going to try it when I get back to my XP computer
  7. Looks fun guys. So Oliver, you're the one who needs a periscope to look out? You'll be a whiz at instrument rating at this rate! Awh that's harsh, Simon! Well it doesn't stop me from making buttery smooth landings ;D
  8. Thanks for the descriptive advice Cameron! I'm going to look at the Bose no interest program, because those A20s sure look nice . I definitely plan on following my aviation carreer! I'm actually going to visit the Air Force Academy next winter because I'm very interested in joining if I get accepted! My hours are building, I'm due to have roughly 30 more hours by the end of the summer! Thanks again for the advice
  9. Hi everyone, I had a question for those of you who own headsets. As I'm building hours (currently have 50+ hours) and with my birthday coming up in a month I've been searching to buy a headset. I've never bought one before (always used the ones at my flight school) so I decided I'd ask the X-Pilot community for advice. I'm looking for something that works well for 350USD or less. I'd appreciate any advice I can get Thanks, Oliver
  10. Definitely a fun experience to fly together, Nout! The airshow was very fun aswell! Btw for those who are unsure, Nout is the one wearing the white and blue shirt. I'm the one wearing the black shirt.
  11. Glad to see you've added a development thread here at X-Pilot too! You've done an amazing job, it looks great! Looking forward to flying it Oliver
  12. They need to install those beeping parking sensors on the 380, like those other overweight SUVs. LOL ;D Yes that would indeed be a good install to the plane! I'm still wondering how all the fly bys are going today, because the weather in the Paris area is truly shit right now... Hopefully all is going well
  13. Surprise move by Korean airlines as well, they flew in their A380 today http://www.airliners.net/photo/Korean-Air/Airbus-A380-861/1939197/L/ I'm bringin' my entire load of camera equipment to the show; D80 + 70-300mm lens +multiple batteries + multiple memory sticks + my 1920x1080 HD Sony camcorder! You guys better get ready for pictures and videos! ;D
  14. Ah yes! I saw that as well, luckily tomorrow another A380 is being ferried in and it will be flying I won't be at the show until Thursday! Tonight I've got a flying lesson at an airport near where the Paris Airshow is being held, and I'm going to try to see how close I can get to the show because the 748F is said to arrive exactly during the time of my flying lesson! I'm really hoping I'd be able to see the thing fly over before landing at least
  15. Ah yes! Aero-files, I had talked with the creator of the sceneries a while ago and he had sent me one of his sceneries to convert to XP. He said he was looking at coming to the XP market! Great sceneries!
  16. You should go read the Flight site and/or the Flight forums over at AVSIM. Flight is for PC and not X-Box. I wouldn't worry about PMDG, they will continue to make some of the best simulation products available. IMHO I very much doubt any XP developer will have the same level of success as PMDG. Here's a word of advice: If you're going to put down XP devs and tell them they work won't be able to surpass those of certain FS addons, you might as well pack your stuff and head on over to an FSX related flight sim forum. Goran and his Saab, and Javier and his CRJ have both surpassed some of the "best" addons for FSX. If you think PMDG is the absolute best and you're going to undeniably support them no matter what anyone tells you your best bet is to go and register on their forums... :
  17. Thanks Nicola, I'll start the video
  18. You could also download a plugin called "Clear Skies". It's on the org somewhere and it prevents the appearance of fog, it's what I use and I find it very useful!
  19. Yep, definitely one sad end for such a majestic aircraft. Let me know if you end up making the livery for it, and if you release it I'll throw together a video tribute for it. Thanks Nicola
  20. Amazing! Thanks Benny!
  21. Hi guys, Just an idea here, I'd try it out myself but I am pretty bad with paints... How about a paint in tribute to Liberty Belle that was lost today outside Chicago... Here is a picture of what happened: http://photos.denverpost.com/mediacenter/2011/06/photos-wwii-b-17-bomber-crashes-outside-chicago/#2 And here is a picture of the livery: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jwm1049/4453751324/ Just an idea if you want to take it up, Nicola. Would be nice to commemorate the sad event of losing such a beauty PS: Sorry for the thread jack.
  22. I agree. They are my two favorite planes and I just got their features mixed up for a second. I am pretty sure that the moving map on the MFD can display runways. This is what I could come up with on the net: simbabeat and Oliver, I see now what you are referring to.... again.. this is outside the standard XP database but I will keep it in mind. Jim Yeah I'm aware it's outside the standard XP norms, I was just trying to clarify what simbabeat was talking about
  23. Yes, SafeTaxi. Also, isn't there a feature on the MFD that when the range knob is all the way on 0.5m that that it can display little outlines of runways? I may be thinking of something else... Sorry I was thinking of the Cirrus G1000. It's a feature exclusive to that version of the g1000. It's like this: note the PFD and the MFD. I often get the Cirrus SR22 and the C400 mixed up so nevermind about that. Cheers Simbabeat, So... • A possible version of SafeTaxi in the future.... • You said... "Also, isn't there a feature on the MFD that when the range knob is all the way on 0.5m that that it can display little outlines of runways?" Again, I'm not sure what you mean... please post a picture if you can. • I'm not sure that even the Cirrus camera is a "factory" option... it may be a third party add-on. In any event it is definitely not available for the Corvalis I never get the Cirrus and Corvalis mixed up.. there are considerable differences, which in my opinion make the Corvalis a much better aircraft. but that's just me Also.. Cessna has announced that the Corvalis TTx with the Garmin G2000 will be available in 2012... much more advanced than the Cirrus... check it out here... http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=1953.0 Jim Ah yes! The times I've flown the G1000 when you zoom in to .5m you can actually see a full map of the airport. IE it shows your location on the taxiway, and which taxiway you are heading towards. Assuming he was on a taxiway it would show the picture below except the airplane "marker" would be following a taxiway along a virtual layout of the airport. I can try to take a shot of it next time I fly G1000 if you want?
  24. Agreed. NGC007 is acting like a whining impatient child... Goran is working day and night on this project to bring us one hell of a plane that we can all enjoy to its fullest. The sooner you'll understand that, the better. And Goran, my friend, you don't have to justify yourself to people like NGC007. Apart from very few, we all know how much work you're putting into this plane, and how painstaking it is. We're all eagerly waiting, it's just some of us have more patience than others Keep up the good work
  25. Some beautiful liveries, Nicola! Thanks!
