  1. Here's what is happening at sunset for me. The sky-terrain transition seems a bit abrupt. John, is this what I should expect? Using a Mac Pro 6-Core, 32 GB RAM, AMD Saphire HD 7950. Latest X-Plane HDR off.
  2. Excellent workmanship. This will be one of the elite X-Plane models.
  3. Got it. I'll wait for the update.
  4. Hello Cameron, I also wanted to install a second low-res version. I followed the instructions that you gave Leen on the forum. I ensured there was no like-named S340 install, and no uninstaller in the folder. However, the installer refuses to complete an install. Each time, during the install process, I get the message "Unable to download component Saab Cargo (or Passenger etc): Component file version does not match." If I click "Retry" it hangs at the same spot. If I click "Ignore" it appears to load the aircraft. I do get the main aircraft version folders but those folders contain only the Objects folder (with only the image files - no objects). There are no other files installed except the Livery Manager, Livery Folder (with liveries) and the Manuals (all image files). It does not provide a text file that would give me a clue as to what is happening. It does put a new uninstall file in the proper place. The Objects folder and Liveries do contain what appears to be the low-res images (comparing to the high res file sizes). I tried a complete uninstall, and then a new install but it does the same as described above. If I am doing something wrong I can't find it. Is there something else I can try? I'm using a Mac with OS 10.9.
  5. Mario, Thank you for the clarification. I stand corrected, if that is true... I had not investigated the new version sufficiently (still haven't). I was going by discussions I had read some time ago -- I apparently came away with the impression that it would behave as it had in the past. What I saw was in Ben Supnik's blog where he was discussing the new airport structure. A question was asked "Do custom airports take priority over Global airports?" and Ben's reply was "They should if your custom scenery folder is prioritized properly. If you start with 10.22 this will happen automagically. If you have an older install you might want to edit the .ini file." So it certainly seemed as if there would be no conflict regarding the new lego-brick airport objects. Autogen is different.
  6. X-Plane prioritizes which airport it will load. It looks for custom scenery first, default scenery last. If you do not have a specific custom airport already installed X-Plane will load its default one. If you already have an airport in your custom scenery X-Plane will load that one instead of the default one. If you (for whatever reason) have two of the same airport in your custom scenery X-Plane will load the first one it comes to (top to bottom on the list). So, if you already have custom scenery installed X-Plane will not override it -- even with the new "lego brick" airports in the latest update. If you prefer your custom scenery just leave it in place. No worries. However, what Mario is referring to is that some of the new autogen textures and objects may appear on your custom airport (not the new default, lego-brick airport objects). That is unlikely because most custom airports have exclusion zones in place, but in some cases it may happen. If it does, and it is a major problem for you, then you can do as Mario advises.
  7. Hi John, I don't know if it is only on my machine (two different browsers) but your iframe is not building. I can't see anything.
  8. I can understand your point, but I think there is a larger picture to see. Cameron and the rest of the developers have been getting pressure from many people who ask repeatedly "when is the update being released?" and others still concerned about their individual issues. I believe the information provided to the public is an attempt to keep people informed that they ARE working on it, as well as what they are working on. They have listened to their customers, researched the reported problems, and are in the process of making corrections and improvements. I think the report was well done and appropriate. I hope that you can see their efforts as customer oriented. I think you'll find that over time they are a very good company that takes their work, and customer's views very seriously.
  9. Me too!
  10. Hi John, This looks like a vast improvement over the current default clouds. I'm eager to give it a try when you release it. I do have a question. In X-Plane the default clouds seem to sneak up and swallow you sometimes. Often on final approach. In other words, I can be flying with a clear view of the runway and then (with no warning) I get the grey screen of death. Are you saying that you have eliminated the "no warning" problem? It appears from your video that you have solved this. Am I seeing that correctly?
  11. Mario, I agree with Brazen -- this is nice work. Thank you for sharing.
  12. John and Mario, In reference to your discussion regarding visibility limiting, have you looked at this plugin? http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=19748 Claims to work with the NOAA weather plugin.
  13. Thank you Ola. Very nice demonstration and analysis.
  14. Download and install was fast and efficient. I put it on the ramp and let auto-start demonstrate the sequence. Everything is perfect so far on a Mac Pro. Thanks for all the hard work. This one is a cut above the rest!
  15. I think he was referring to the name of the font you used in your post.
  16. Hi Goran_M, Just a minor heads up: Your Facebook Page link has some extra characters (http://www.facebook.com/OfficialLeadingEdgeSimulations?fref=ts) and won't open to your page. Removing the extra (?fref=ts) will get you there.
  17. Thanks for the update. Sounds like very good reasons for the little delay. I'll be here when you're ready to launch.
  18. Hey...! Being a certified old fart (OF) I'm not sure I agree with your analogy. OK, so I don't always end up where I initially intended to go, but I sometimes find the most interesting places! On the other hand, congratulations to Cameron and the development crew. This one will be one of the stars of my fleet.
  19. Update, and conclusion. Cameron did open a link for me this afternoon. A download and fresh install fixed my problems. Thank you, Cameron. I can only conclude that I either missed downloading the update, or I put the wrong version of the plugin back into my system while troubleshooting a different aircraft (likely). Either way would be my bad. Thanks for previous comments. CW
  20. OK, thanks for the feedback so far. I got so wound up in troubleshooting I forgot about the limits on the DC-3 and Corvalis- scratch those issues. So, that leaves the MU-2 issue. I don't disagree with Cameron's suggestion, I just am stuck with any further troubleshooting. CW
  21. Hello All, I am new to this forum but a long-time X-Plane user. I have a problem that (after an extensive search) I have not found addressed on the forum so far. And if I'm in the wrong area please point me to the correct one. My problem (while using a Mac Pro, 6-Core Intel Xeon, 32 GB RAM, ATI HD 5870 1024 MB) with X-Plane 10.22+ 64 bit: For some of my X-Aviation aircraft (that function with GIZMO) some of the animations have ceased to function. For example; the Cessna Corvalis, the Douglas DC-3, and the Mitsubishi Mu-2B. - For the DC-3 the yoke is not animated (but the ailerons and elevator actually do move). - For the Corvalis the stick does not move (external surfaces do move). - For the MU2 (a long-time favorite) most of the cockpit animations do not function. The yoke doesn't move, nor does the throttle/condition levers. Many of the buttons and switches fail to operate. Externally I can see elevator and rudder movement but not the ailerons. The props are not animated. All of these planes had been functioning with no problem. I do believe that they were functioning subsequent to the latest update for the MU-2 (after the corrected installer for Mac). I am unaware of any event or other updates that may have effected this. However, in each case the log.txt complains about the same problem: "dlerror:dlopen(/Volumes/B Drive/X-Plane 10/Resources/plugins/Gizmo64.plugin/64/mac.xpl, 6): Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/libcurl.framework/Versions/A/libcurl Referenced from: /Volumes/B Drive/X-Plane 10/Resources/plugins/Gizmo64.plugin/64/mac.xpl Reason: image not found" (a complete log.txt file is attached) Also, in the cockpit I do not have GIZMO in the plugins menu and don't have the side menu for GIZMO that was there before. Also GIZMO no longer creates the GizmoLog.txt. Using the provided installer I have uninstalled and re-installed the latest MU-2 update. That was the latest aircraft to update. I contacted Cameron about this through the X-Aviation site. After a look at my log.txt file he recognized that "It looks like your frameworks library didn't install." He informed me that they had put out a re-built installer and that I should re-downloadand and re-install the MU-2. I believe that I had used that corrected installer, but I wanted to give it another try. Since my download link had expired I asked that he re-open the link so that I could ensure that, in fact, I had the latest/corrected update. That was a several days ago. Unfortunately, Cameron has not responded to that request (nor subsequent emails asking for further troubleshooting tips). Hmm.... I had also asked where the frameworks library was supposed to reside so that I could have a direct look. By the way, I have a second X-Plane installation on another hard drive. Both are acting the same with the X-Aviation/GIZMO aircraft (all other aircraft are functioning normally). So I'm stuck. Are there others with this problem, and is there a known solution? Troubleshooting suggestions? CW Log.txt
