  1. Gentlemen, I know that few of you are watching this thread and you might wonder why I did not post for a while. I am flying on FSE and I purchased Saab340 for v$3,600,000 I had to take a loan for it and I have to pay every month v$360,000 which converts to a lot of flying on FSE. As far as my Leading Edge Simulations Saab 340A Experience thread, nothing has changed, I still have a whole plan for sharing some interesting flights with you. Next one ( I will try today) will be requested/proposed NZWW RWY34 approach with funky weather NW winds at 45 KNTS G70... oooohoooo, that will be tough. Cannox, where are you? You mysteriously disappeared. Hope all is well. Cheers, AJ
  2. You and other guys did it, John. Happy you like it. When one day we get for that lunch ( do not worry I am not pushing, just one day in the future) , it is on me. Cheers, AJ
  3. OK, here goes AJ AGAIN! Guys, I do not care how many times I said that, I have to say it again. Thank you John, Thank you SkyMaxx Pro Team, Thank you X-Aviation Team to make it possible. Why do I had to say it? I am flying on VATSIM now, one of the longer flights using FSE to pay off my baby LES Saab340A ( BTW, v$3,600,000 ). I switched to outside view and started playing with the time of the day ( since I am on VATSIM, I could not change the weather). I was so impressed with what I saw that I made the video below. I am in love with SMP and my LES Saab340A, call me whatever you want, I do not care, had to post it here. Cheers, AJ P.S. The first part of the video has some sounds from me watching the video on you tube on the other screen, sorry about that. Watch in HD and full screen.
  4. Red Shift will be my choice and of course some experimenting will be in place. Great job. Was trying to call my cat JohnMAXX to show the appreciation but he is probably deaf like me, no response. Things are getting really nice for XP, thank you all who is involved. Cheers, AJ
  5. John, just took a look at the SMP settings and different cirrus textures, awesome. Cirrus force idea was when that genus light bulb clicked in your head. It was a great improvement in my opinion. I love contrails or like some say chem-trails . Do you think , maybe one day in the future, we could have an option to adjust their density? I love SMP as it is but since I know you guys will be shooting for perfection, I just wanted to ask. Thank you, cheers, AJ
  6. +1 Excellent idea and implementation. Cheers, AJ
  7. Hi Jim, Thank you very much for taking your time and replying. It makes me very happy to hear that the upcoming update might not be the latest if any further updates are needed. I was under the impression that it is going to be only one and that's it. It was a reason I did not point out the errors with both generators failure. Thank you again, I like this approach very much. Cheers, AJ
  8. Holy ..... who do I kiss first? Seriously, Thank you John, thank you SkyMaxx Pro Team, Thank you X-Aviation Team, excellent job. I see the frame rate increase along with other described improvements. VERY HAPPY! Cheers, AJ
  9. Fluffy drifting balls...  you guys are hilarious. John, please easy with pulling , just take your time, lol, lol, lol SMP will get only better, I am sure, it is already great! Cheers, AJ
  10. Glad you liked the video. You missed the thread where I replied to your question on autopilot assignment. Check the link below. Reply # 12 http://forums.x-pilot.com/topic/5784-solved-where-is-the-autopilot-engage-button/ Cheers, AJ
  11. Hey Vincent, That was quite easy and since it is just like livery , I hope it does not void the warranty, Cameron? Seriously, I am at work but I will try. There are two .jpg or .png files in objects folder ( these apply to all Saab liveries if I am not mistaken). If you look at the pictures, you will find the right one, if not I will point it out for you. I suggest to save the original somewhere in case you screw up. Just in case. Since you find the file, you openm it in Photoshop or Gimp ( I have Gimp, free but as powerful as PS) and save it in native format. Create new layer so you do not mess up anything. Add whatever you want on that layer, has to be above the main layer where you see the whole cockpit. When you are done, export the file with the same name as whatever the original is and override existing one. Then you nee3d to load your new LES Saab340A livery and you are done. If you make more changes, you need to load different livery first and then reload yours to see the changes. If things do not work or you mess up, DO NOT BLAME ME! I only answered you how I did it. Same thing goes for creating new livery, just copy the painting kit folder available http://forums.x-pilot.com/files/file/564-take-command-saab-340a-paint-kit/ and rename to your liking. Then edit whatever you wish and of course add the new custommlivery folder to existing ones. Have fun and let us know how it went. Cheers, AJ
  12. @Monbeg: thank you very much for taking your time and gave such a great explanations. 1. I understand now about the relation betyween flipping the CTOT switches of and the Power lever position. If I understand it correctly, we do not want to flip the switches ON with power lever more than 20% of the capture range. Actually by flipping the CTOT on before landing, I was getting few times in a very frustrating situation, I wanted to add some power to lower the descend rate and I would get the power set on CTOT scale. Thank you VERY MUCH for that explanation, I might assign a key for managing CTOT switches. It is hard to manually fly the plane and look down to flip CTOT switches on while the whole attention should be directed to doing GA. 2. Attached image shows fine, where did you get it from if I can ask, it is not part of the manual, is it? 3. No confusion at all, quite opposite, I am happy to hear your explanations. Are you a Saab pilot? Your explanations are very detailed. 4. After a bit bumpy beginning, I totally fell in love with LES Saab340A and I even started a separated thread about my experiences with it. http://forums.x-pilot.com/topic/6326-leading-edge-simulations-saab-340a-experience/ I am not a real pilot, I only had several hours of training in Piper 140 Cherokee but simulator is kind of a substitution for the dreams that will never come true, I just do not have enough money to continue siccessful training. I am aware that LES Saab340A is not a 100% simulation of the real deal and I am very happy that LES Team was able to come up with that level of accuracy for the price Saab is selling. My only wish is to see the update which will squeeze few more FPS which would be great in my case. Anyway, I do not want to make the story too long, I am very happy with Saab and your input. I will post questions as they appear. Jim, can I ask you what determines if "should" could become "will"? I know that Goran already sent files ( it was said in one of the threads) as well whoever was involved in the improvements and it all is waiting for Cameron to get his hands on putting it into installer which is a complicated process and takes a lot of time and effort. What you just said means that the changes might be included in the update but it is only up to Cameron or that it might be yet another further update? I am just asking because you guys went so far as far as the complexity and accuracy with Saab that it would be great to have it even closer to the real deal that it is now. Totally off topic now. I started flying on FSE and I took a v$3,600,000 loan and bought ..................... Saab340 I have six months to pay the loan, monthly payment around v$370,000 which means a LOT of flying. Cheers, AJ

  14. OK Gentlemen, Queenstown is checked out. Enjoy the videos. Cheers, AJ
  15. Thanks for the input, Monbeg. I knew about 2 errors errors you listed except that I was told by Saab pilot that autopilot would still work.Who to believe? Keeping in mind that LES Saab340A is not a commercial simulator costing a fortune, I am very happy about the level of accuracy for the price I paid. I would buy it again as it is. I select CTOT on for landing because I was advised to do so by Saab pilot but maybe I misunderstood, maybe it should be flipped on just before GA. I have never discussed to what % it should be set to though. From what you are saying 100% seems to be too much. What criteria would you use to set CTOT % ? What are your impressions with LES Saab340A? Thanks for the input, cheers, AJ
  16. Not to cross post, just wanted to let you guys know here that after reading all discussion here, I made a video on the subject. Please look up reply # 82 on this page http://forums.x-pilot.com/topic/6326-leading-edge-simulations-saab-340a-experience/page-5#entry69079 Cheers, AJ
  17. Inspired by recent discussion in the other thread as well as posts from the past, I wanted to make a quick video just about LES Saab340A Autopilot IAS ( Speed ) Mode. I would like to ask Leading Edge Simulations Team members to respond if anything I am saying in the video is not correct. I am trying to fly LES Saab340A as I was flying a real deal ( well, most of the times except when I want some experience some healthy adrenaline rush ) and I would hate to provide incorrect statements. I have videos from NZQN approaches and will post them soon. Stay tuned. Cheers, AJ
  18. Hey Trev, that would be my pleasure. BEFORE I do that, I will need to post some experiments with IAS mode and then few videos from NZQN approaches. Your NZWN approach with the custom weather will be next, probably this weekend. You might see many GAs though. Cheers, AJ
  19. Use LES/CMD/APCP/lever/AP_engage_disengage command. Have fun. Making video for you and others to show all related to throttle , IAS mode. Stay tuned. Cheers, AJ
  20. Hope it is not related to the crash on Goran's back.  Sorry John , sometimes I just can not help it, it just pops out and I write, you know it is all for a good humor, that's all. That 1.3 update sounds really good, keep it up. Cheers, AJ
  21. If you post approaches/landings locations you want to see me flying LES Saab340A, just post it here, I will fly them. I have a quite long list of places and approaches for my beloved aircraft. Cheers, AJ
  22. Cool John, when it gets nicer I will drive up closer to where you are for a quick lunch, yeah, I know busy but I have seen community guys do that a lot. VPA I am a member , they even fly from different countries to meet. Anybody else from NJ for a quick meeting? OK, will not bother you now, I will remind you when the spring comes. Great job on XP, I know I repeat myself but that is on purpose, I remember someone saying that when the credit is due , it needs to be recognized and appreciation shown, even when it is payware. I agree with that 100%. Cheers, AJ
  23. Woo hoo, Deptford, I take my wife Carolina shopping there all the time, hate shopping but gotta do it for the loved one. Near McGuire AFB, sounds great, not that far from me, I miss the McGuire AFB shows. Hey, when it gets warmer, maybe we can get together for lunch if you want, if you are not too busy of course, just an idea. Cheers, AJ
  24. I am in Lindenwold, 20 minutes from Philly. You? Cheers, AJ
  25. John and MAXX Team, you guys are making a big difference for XP experience, I do not care how much is the software, it is worth every penny in my opinion. Keep going. Cheers, AJ
