Phillip, thnks that we are able to discuss it a bit more - I do not want to bother I try to help and to find out what happens as I do for Ramzzess or Javier Cortez or Dennis Prüfer I do it just for fun if I have time for that - and do not worry soon I have my next big movie where I will be on set for 2 month - then I will be quiet for sure.... to the point: yes there is a keystroke to the CRJ/autopilot/speed_button dataref in my case shift F6 :-) but I did not say it crashes with hitting that button - it crashed today when I hit the keystroke for the CRJ/spd/tgt_vspeds - and that made me wonder cause I really thought that nothing will happen as long as I use the CRJ datarefs. And it is hard to reproduce cause it never happens always that is a very problematic point for sure! BTW did you see my list for joystick or keystrokes which I made for using with the CRJ200 - I adressed almost everything you see there to my hardware / keyboard as I do with any other plane. Let us stopp using the mouse - mouse is so much unfashion like our benzin driven cars.... And I found out why I did not get the tuning of decison hight to work with a keystroke - cause it it a "float" dataref - so I wrote a (float) behind your dataref and the keystroke/joystick button is working - maybe you could update your list with the info it is a float dataref or not. Regards Tom I am on win7 64bit
-
no this is quite interesting cause the Goflight plugin is adressed to the default datarefs and it is interesting that you are using it without getting sudden deaths. you are not on win as I see. Regards Tom
-
Phillip, yes of course if I adress the key to your crj200/autopilot/speed_button it triggers xplanes default dataref sim/cockpit/autopilot/airspeed_mode, if I dial the crj200/select_speed it triggers the default sim_cockpit_autopilot_airspeed this is what I see in the datarefeditor. Same happens if I switch of the serialFP2 disable it from the plugin, switch of the hardware disconnect it physically from the system - and just take the keyboard command - same result as described above. This happens with a lot of datarefs - your custom commands/datarefs are triggering default commands/datarefs. Regards Tom

Javier, i just has a Crash of XP when hitting the keystroke for changing the VR speed Settings from VFTO to V1/VR/V2. Cause this is def. a custom command I sent you my log and crash file - I think it is absolutely necessary that a plane of this class must work with hardware! The problem is that it is very hard to reproduce - cause it happens not every time when using the hardware but please be aware and believe that this happens only with the CRJ200. Regards Tom Log.txt crash_log.txt

Actually in 2D you can do something. It depends on the vertcal position of the window in planemaker. But in a 3D environment it might Be different. Regards

Hi Javier, thnx for trying to help but as I said it occurs with different commands - but all of them have been defaulf xp commands like tune speed, tune heading, tune DH.... now only DH is still default dataref - cause I do not get the custom command for tune dh to work on hardware - I do not know why cause any other tune command works - are you sure the tune dh command you told in the dataref list is right? I will go for now with this configuration - knowing there is only one default dataref left and I will see if this crash occurs again. I let you know. maybe in the moment I am the only one which tr to fly this plane without touching the mouse at all - I see replies where people still complain they cannot use there keyboard for using the fmc - as you know with my list for the xjoymap python script it is possible to use the fmc without mouse. regards tom regards tom
-
@Nova you can use the Keyboard for the fmc. On the 1.0 support i postet a possibillity which works fine. Give it a try. Regards
-
Did you guys changed anything in the default nav.dat? there are some sceneries on the .org where you have to change the nav.dat to use it. Sometimes it occurs with wrong entries that the UFMC is reporting invalid entries although the waypoint is in the file. As I am Not sure if the CRJ FMC works with the default nav.dat this idea might be completely wrong - maybe not. Regards
-
I read in another topic which is logged now about a lot of crashes. Just to know do you guys use hardware to fly this plane, I mean more then a yoke? Are you manipulating like heading, altitude, vspeed etc. with hardware even with the keyboard? I myself try to find out why those crashes after hardware commands occur. An xplane model which cannot be succesfully operate with hardware will go to my unused airplane folder. I myself do not need xpuipc but at lot of hardware user need this. So this has to work in a xplane model to. Regards
-
Perhaps I found something out. If I use xp default commands like heading up/down or speed up/down etc. which works in the CRJ this maybe cause sudden crahes. I now mapped those commands to the CRJ datarefs and had flights without crashes. Maybe not doing so confuses the logic of the CRJ - maybe. The only command I do not get to work with hardware is tuning the decison height. I have the dataref but I do not get it to work. All others of the list I uploaded in 1.0 forum are working fine. Regards Tom

Go with xjoymap - this will solve the joystick button problem. Cheers

CRJ-200 Update Version 1.1 Release Information
TOBS replied to Cameron's topic in Version 1.0 Support - Closed!
Hi phillip is this something that only occurs with OPEN GL or does it happen with DirectX11 to? Just a question - Austin will never go for DirectX. I remember that Javier Cortes had once big problems with fonts in the UFMC. As soon as starting using the UFMC the framerate dropped down heavily. I do not remember how he solved that problem, cannot find his mail, but he did. Regards Tom -
Hi CRJ xp pilots - I do not understand the discussion where to place people or other payload. As far as I know - as long as the plane author did not implement some kind of loading possibllity like you find in some good MSFS payware - it is not possible to place payload on special places like front or back seats. I just forgot Felis xp planes - there it looks like you are able to place people on certain seats and the luggage / cargo in different places to balance the plane. Regards Tom

CRJ-200 Update Version 1.1 Release Information
TOBS replied to Cameron's topic in Version 1.0 Support - Closed!
If we talk about performance - in the manual is said that in general mac rans ca. 15fps faster then win - is this still fact or could you examine this problem. regards tom -
Cameron, so first I asked kindly for a release date for the new MU2 that I am able to use it. Yes for a period of time it worked - but now I have the eclipse mainboard which has 2 network connectors - as I told you. You told me maybe here is the problem. And in the manual there was no hint that this can cause problems or the changing mac adresses can cause problems. In fact I talked to Javier Cortes about that - he is using mac adresses as well and here I do not have any problems. Yes we went over it more then one time - and it is boaring for me to - believe me. But what would you do on my point....? I am just waiting - do not get a clear answer - other then I cannot do anything....... Just tell me when I will get a working product or offer me something else. xaviation stuff is the most expensive stuff for xplane with the most bugs after first release - which the release of the CRJ200 shows if I look into the topics. It is ok so far - cause this planes are nice and quite well designed - and xplane needs good planes - if problems get solved - this is like it works in the business world. You as the seller has the chance to support and repair if something is going wrong. But it goes to legal stuff if the seller do not cooperate and cannot fix the problem. As you are in the USA I cannot do more then ask your company to support this problem or to find another solution. No other products of any other xplane payware author has problems on my computer. I wished you would agree and cooperate more. But maybe Tom can do something - thats why I answered on his topic. Kind regards Tom
-
Hi Tom, may I kindly ask for a release date of this update. I ask cause I cannot use the current version due to a registration problem. Cameron has no solution for it and asked me to wait for the next version, with a new registration system. Since a year or more the well payed MU2 sleeps now and I like to know when it is possible to use it again. If you have any other idea how I get the MU2 back to work - like changing the gizmo plug script so that no registration is necessary - why not. The current situation is very unsatisfying. Kind Regards Tom

List of all CRJ datarefs: cockpit builders, heat up your soldering irons
TOBS replied to philipp's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
Yes Javier, maybe in my system but only with your plane. Isn´t this strange. You ask the hardware builders to give the hardware for free - on the other hand you do not want to give your plane to addon developpers for free. No other planebuilder refuses so strictly to build custom joystick commands or keyboard commands like you. Is this cause you know about the problem with hardware? So in this way it is very eays to say it is the plugin, what I need for custom joystick buttons. Cause without a plugin your custom commands cannot be mapped to joystick or keyboard. It could if you would write it into the code! Ok but it begins to be boaring - you refuse the critic and observations - do it like you want. It is really not a bad plane this for sure - but it has a lot of lacks, as this board here shows. We will see what happens in 1.1. or later.... Regards Tom -
List of all CRJ datarefs: cockpit builders, heat up your soldering irons
TOBS replied to philipp's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
Phillip this sounds very poor - Felis, Ramzzess, Peter Hager, QPAC, Shade Tree Micro, Caranedo, x737 - no one has this problem never!!! The CRJ team claims that it is the best plane ever made for xplane. And now your customer should agree that he cannot use his hardware as he is used to fly with it - I do not believe that you mean what you say. But lets wait for the update. Regards Tom -
List of all CRJ datarefs: cockpit builders, heat up your soldering irons
TOBS replied to philipp's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
hi phillip, as I said, those crashes happens without any other plugins. the saitek yoke or throttle does not use plugins, the keyboard does not use plugins. please understand that the crashes appears when using usb connected hardware without plugin. not always but frequently. This makes a very important difference. regards tom -
Crashes with USB Custom Joystick Commands

I wait - of course - just to confirm there is no plugin for the keyboard or the saitek hardware. Regards Tom -
Crashes with USB Custom Joystick Commands
TOBS replied to TOBS's topic in Version 1.0 Support - Closed!
Yes the best is to wait what happens with version 1.1! But what do you mean with keyboard plugin issue - there is no keyboard plugin - it is just a keyboard and this saitek hardware which does use a plugin. In another topic other users tell that they have problems with saitek hardware. Regards Tom -
Crashes with USB Custom Joystick Commands
TOBS replied to TOBS's topic in Version 1.0 Support - Closed!
Ok I try - when using hardware like the Saitek Proflight Throttle Quadrant Buttons or the Keyboard for sending commands to the CRJ200 XP crashes quite frequently (not always) without any warning or description in the logfile. Those hardware is connected via USB. Hitting a button fires an USB command - this is what I mean. Regards Tom -
Javier, Phiipp, after finishing the big list of custom joystick commands I discovered that the XP crashes frequently when firering USB commands with hardware. Since this never occured with any other model and others seem to have the same problem I thought it might be helpfull to open a new topic. Regards Tom
