  1. Thanks. I tried all that but I'm still having the problem. Could it be the approach I'm trying to fly? It's the GPS13RZ with the WAZAK trans. into KPSP.
  2. I've encountered a really annoying problem and I don't know if it's a bug or something I'm doing wrong. Sometimes, I have a need to skip over some waypoints and proceed direct to one farther down my flight plan. The problem is, occasionally when I do this the Saab seems to take up some random heading. Even if I get it on the magenta line with heading select, then press 'direct' again, and turn on NAV hold, it wanders off to hold some (presumably) random heading. Am I doing something wrong? Before this happens, it follows my flight plan perfectly. I'm using the default GPS and all my navdata for the default 'GNS 430' and PFPX which I use to compile my plans is updated to this month's cycle
  3. The title might not convey exactly what I want to do so here is a better explanation: I have a Saitek Extreme 3D Pro with a single, small throttle lever. The throttle lever controls the full throttle range, with full throttle on the joystick corresponding to max on the Saab's throttle levers, and minimum corresponding to max reverse. This makes things difficult when taxiing, as if I don't have the TQ Monitor up it's very easy to being the throttles back from Ground Idle into reverse. The TQ Monitor makes it so that I cna preven this, but having a 2D popup up really kills immersion. Is there a way for me to set my joystick's throttle lever's minimum setting to ground idle, and activate reverse the default way using a key command?
  4. Thanks! I missed the part where he said that. Beda's sceneries are amazing for freeware.
  5. Can someone point me to a download for the EDDC addon he uses in the video? It looks great but I can't seem to find it.
  6. I'd like to add another thing I noticed. On a flight I finished just now, I still could not get the power up as normal even if I never put the levers into reverse. It didn't seem as bad as when I use reverse thrust, but I still could not get past a crawl (max 13kts g/s with the throttles well past the flight detent) until a minute or so after landing. Nothing changed when I moved my condition levers to min.
  7. Absolutely. The Saab 340 is my favorite plane in real life, and I actually bought XP10 just to use this addon. I can't believe how detailed the Saab is, just like the Majestic Q400 or PMDG NGX for FSX (maybe even more so), and as a platform XPlane is superb. I love the 'feel' I get, like I'm actually driving a large metal machine through a fluid medium. I'm having enormous fun recreating Northwest Airlink Saab flights out of DTW I'd take as a kid, and actually haven't fired up P3D in days. Good luck figuring out this little quirk, but until then I can deal with all the phone numbers I'll get from ATC for clogging up their runways
  8. I actually tried this, and although the aircraft remained rolling I could still tell that power was not restored completely. I had trouble maintaining taxi speeds and the engines sounded abnormal to me as well.
  9. I created a new repaint for the Fruitstand Static Saab 340 to place at an airport. The Fruitstand Aircraft are originally from MSFS, and I had the repaint I wanted installed into MSFS (Northwest Airlink). So, I took the NWA .bmp files and opened them in paint.net, flipped them (as is necissary for the Xplane static model), and saved them in the .dds format. I then fixed up everything with the aircraft's folder, and the aircraft shows up perfectly in Overlay editor's preview. I placed the aircraft on the airport, but when I loaded the sim I got an error saying there is some scenery texture error, which I had never gotten before at this airport (I only added the NWA aircraft, nothing more), and all the new aircraft I added appeared grey with no textures on them. What is going on here? I double and triple checked, and all the texture files for the new aircraft are identical to the ones that came with the Fruitstand library I downloaded at the org. Here are some shots illustrating what's going on. I'm using the Silver Airways repaint that came with the package to compare:
  10. Thank you all for the replies. I just landed after a flight and the same thing occurred, only this time it seemed that normal power only got restored a minute or two after landing, no matter how much I juggled the throttles. Before takeoff, the Saab on the ground is very fast and can creep up to 30kts+ if I'm not careful, but this time after landing it wouldn't get over 13kts (power levers at flt idle, conditions at MAX). Flight was 100% normal otherwise. Interesting! +1 to LES for realism. Could you ask them what the procedure was to smoothly transition from reverse to normal taxi thrust without stopping? There must be a way as I highly doubt the A models just hang out on the runway after landing. Do you then move them back to MAX for the rest of the taxi after you leave the runway and are in beta?
  11. I'm having an issue, and I'm sure it's just something I'm doing wrong (I checked the manual and could not find anything helpful). After landing, I reduce the power all the way to provide full reverse thrust. When I advance the throttles again, however, it seems that they do not deliver any thrust for about 5-10 seconds, making it so that I frequently come to a stop on the runway. Am I doing something incorrectly?
  12. Tell me about it! I'm only just learning how to fly this plane after buying it in November, and I can't believe I let it sit in the hangar so long. And it definitely feels more immersive that I can't rely on saving a flight and thus must get it right the first time, but real pilots don't need to worry about the world running out of memory and suddenly ceasing to exist. Ah, well... maybe a proper flight saving feature will come with XP11 someday.
  13. That's unfortunate. Thanks for letting me know, though.
  14. I am brand new to Xplane, so maybe I am missing something, but is seems that I cannot save a flight in the Saab, close the sim, the open it again and resume the flight. Just now I was flying and made a new 'situation' after reaching cruising altitude, but the sim crashed a few minutes later. I started the sim again, but when I came back and opened my saved situation the plane was in the cold and dark load state. Is there any way to pause/resume situations? XP crashes on me from time to time so it would be very disappointing if there was no way to resume a flight.
  15. I'd love it if someone could paint these two! NWA Saab 340 (silver livery) GLO AIrlines
  16. I noticed that the manual mentions that there is an AEW variant of the Saab included. Where do I get it, though? I just tried reinstalling the aircraft and it doesn't show up (also, there's no option for it in the livery manager, only Passenger and Cargo). Also, I couldn't find a separate download for ti in my account at the store. Where is it?
  17. I guess I should use the search function before I post... sorry about that. I followed your instructions to the other poster and the backlighting works just fine now. Thanks!
  18. I purchased this aircraft a few days ago, and although I haven't had a chance to do a full, proper flight I already know it will be my favorite sim aircraft. However, I have a small problem. How do you turn on the overhead panel lighting in the cockpit? I've turned on ALL the light switches I could find, even the cabin and exterior ones, but still the cockpit's overhead panel remains unlit. For some reason the PANEL 'potentometer' mentioned in the manual does not light the overhead panel. How can I turn on these lights?
  19. Thanks, but I actually purchased it on Thursday as I was told on X-Aviaiton's site that it rarely goes on sale. I should have waited, but this plane is so amazing that I don't feel bad about paying full price for it.
  20. Haha. Of course, $50 is an excellent price for what looks like a magnificent aircraft, but as a college student I'm interested in saving money wherever I can The Saab is my favorite aircraft and I'm anxious to fly it. so now that I know a sale is rare I'll certainly be picking it up soon. Thanks for the replies.
  21. Now that the Steam sale has started, I'll probably be buying XP10 in the next few minutes! Because of the sale I'll still have enough money to purchase my dream plane, the X-Aviation Saab 340. But I'm wondering, does it ever go on sale around this time of year? Or is it always priced at ~$50? I have no problem paying the full price but I'd hate to check back later to find that I missed out on some savings.
  22. Are either of these liveries planned?
  23. Hi everyone. I am currently an FSX User, but I am considering getting X-Plane 10 as well, cheifly because of all the high-detail addons like the JRollon CRJ-200 and Jetstream 32. I've used the X-Plane 10 trial before and I quite liked it, but one thing that irked me was how I couldn't figure out how to use my Joystick Hat Switch to pan around the aircraft and inside the VC. Is there any way to do this? Also, are there any good AI Traffic programs for XP10? Thanks for the help! hamoody
  24. Wow, this looks amazing! The SAAB 340 is my favorite plane, and I am thinking about getting X-Plane just so that I can use this (currently only using FSX)! Is a 340B model planned?
