  • Santiago Butnaru Announces Release of La Guardia

Santiago Butnaru, creator of the Santander scenery package, has released a new scenery package for New York's La Guardia airport for X-Plane 9. The scenery represents an effort to re-create the airport as it's seen today, including custom objects for the terminal, static aircraft, underlying imagery, and more.

You can purchase La Guardia for $14.95, as well as check out more information on the product by checking out the product information page.

Yeah, well. It's OK. I mean, I'm not a fan of static airplanes all over the place. The textures are OK. A bit lowres to my liking. What's killing my performance is that I have to populate autogen in order to actually see the buildings. This means buildings all over the place, which in turn means the CPU has more to think about and I end up on around 25-30fps on my i5 2500K 8GB RAM GTX560ti rig.

As a scenery developer I bought it to poke around and check the textures and UV maps.

Trying it soon too. That sounds strange, that his buildings are classed as autogen. We know Santiago so I might let him know if it's a common issue, if not already reported.

    Buildings aren't autogen.

Personally, I have it and like it.

I don't believe buildings are classified as autogen, however, the airport buildings will not show unless you have SOME autogen showing, which is what I think Ola is speaking about. :)

I got it, no major fps issues for me. Yes a bit low res, but it's big, adds to the area well. Do us planes have their logo names reversed on one side? Some of his do..

If I on top of this try to use the CRJ, it's pretty much not possible to fly. FPS is too low to put it down on the ground safely.

I'm getting 50+ FPS. It's much easier on my FPS then my KEWR scenery... I like it.

May I ask for your specs, render settings and what plane you're flying to get that kind of performance ?

Here's my video of it & the NYC area. Ola's right though, I wouldn't fly the CRJ-200 round it! But I suspect it's the fairly dense scenery nearby, as even the T28 struggles a bit here
