RealScenery Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 I'd laugh if it wasn't seriously being considered.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/travelnews/8001351/SkyRider-new-saddle-seat-allows-airlines-to-cram-more-passengers.html Quote
MaidenFan Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 That's bullshit that the airlines are considering that, especially considering the price to fly. WE AREN'T SARDINES. Quote
WombatBoy Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Wow. 7 inches less than the normal 30 inches. I'm not a tall man, 5' 8'' to be exact, and I happen to have relatively short legs, my legs are horribly cramped on most airlines. Not the least of which is Spirit, of airlines I've ridden on, they are the worst yet in terms of leg room. Plus, what are people who are somewhat disabled, have a broken ankle or something, what are they going to do now if the weight is "put on the feet" I don't think I can stand on 1 leg for 8 hours. On a lighter note...the A380 has 800 some seats in an all economy configuration, you figure you could stuff in 1000 with these seats Quote

Kaphias Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 I really have no issue with this... add a couple more exits to keep things safe, and it would lower the cost of flying. It's no different from standing on a bus versus taking a taxi as far as I'm concerned, there are those of us who will go through some pain to get where we want to go, cheaper. Quote
