cmbaviator Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 (edited) I was wondering if the version of the FMC modelled is above or below 10.8? http://www.b737.org.uk/fmc_u108.htm Edited April 29, 2016 by cmbaviator Quote
Rodeo Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 Most likely a much older version, AFAICT you cannot arm VNAV on ground on the IXEG. Quote

Shifty Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 We use 10.8A at our airline but are still not allowed to ARM VNAV or LNAV on the ground. We engage LNAV at 400ft RA if using it, and VNAV once we have flaps up no lights and the gear in the off position. This is a protection to stop the aircraft accelerating when Pilot monitoring could unintentionally put the gear down and quickly back up when going to the off position (Happens more than you think). You could over-speed the gear restriction of 235kts. These are our company procedures anyway. Quote
Rodeo Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 I just meant (reading the website linked to from the first post) that the ability (as opposed to actually doing it) would differentiate version 10.8 and later of the FMS from previous versions (where it's simply not possible). It may be that I misread and that's not a new feature introduced by the 10.8 update though. Quote
