xterminator24 Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 While taxiing I accidentally hit the TOGA button I have mapped on my yoke. Obviously it tried to go to TOGA power. I killed the Auto Throttle and I was able to taxi normally. I noticed that on the PFD, I couldn't cancel the TOGA power. Normally before takeoff I have ARM on the top left of the PFD. But in this case it was showing TOGA in green. Is there a procedure I can do in the IXEG 737-300 to cancel/reset TOGA mode? I don't think this is a bug, I think it's the case of a pilot not knowing the correct procedure. ;P
ayster Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 I've done this so many times too! Would love to know if theres a way to cancel it.
mgeiss Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 (edited) I think in the NG you can turn off both FD's which resets/cancels the TOGA annunciation. I don't know if this works in the 733, but I'm sure Jan will have the answer. But generally, I wouldn't arm A/T until holding short at the runway; if I'm not planing to do a shortcut takeoff on a taxiway. Edited April 28, 2016 by mgeiss
dr_nerdrage Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Press A/T disengage and pull back on the throttle
Litjan Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 (edited) mgeiss has it right - don´t arm the A/T until lining up (for this very reason - it has happened in real life, too!)... To cancel the modes, FD´s off then on SHOULD work... if it doesn´t please post so in the support section! Thanks, Jan Edited April 28, 2016 by Litjan 3
xterminator24 Posted April 28, 2016 Author Report Posted April 28, 2016 Thanks Everyone. I'll modify my routine to keep the auto throttle off until I'm lining up. @Litjan I'll try the reset process out tonight. I've heard tell of a "Southwest Taxi" but doing 90 kts was a little excessive. 1
xterminator24 Posted April 28, 2016 Author Report Posted April 28, 2016 @Litjan I tested this and turning the flight directors off and then back on worked perfectly. It reset and when I engage the Auto Throttle it goes back to ARM mode. Thanks for the help and information. I really appreciate it!
