Hi,

After doing the tutorial and im little confused as to power setting in this aircraft.  In the tutorial it says after turning the CTOT off you don't touch the power level.  My question is what should be the power setting during climb, cruise and descent for this aircraft, how and when do you adjust, and finally under what kind of power setting does the chart on page 69 of the charts pdf hold?

 thanks

Caveat: I am not an authority on the topic but have explored it reading what I can.

From this document: https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D7938372_93809022_881009, I quote:

"During climb, TRQ will drop slightly so you need to adjust the

P/L to keep 90% until the ITT reaches 830ºC. Then you keep
830ºC until on level where you can adjust the ITT up to approx
850ºC according to what the TRQ-table states and where it
should stay during the rest of the cruise. Depending of OAT the
ITT/TRQ will move up or down so you need to keep an eye on it
and adjust it accordingly."

That does not directly answer you question, and I don't know the veracity of that document. And 'yes,' I have read that you do not touch TRQ settings after disengaging the CTOT, but I find the drop in TRQ detrimental to any meaningful climb rate so I increase TRQ anyway. To what degree? I let temperature be my guide and stay just below the yellow. When at cruise, I power back to the recommended 60-70% TRQ.

I find the setting of the condition levels even more confusing, especially during climb, but at cruise I have been reducing PROP to 1260, though I've read numbers up to 1330.

The tutorial is based on REX Airlines procedures.  When I say "don't touch the Power Levers when turning CTOT off", that refers to initial climb out.  The Power Levers are set to approximately 15% less than CTOT power.  That setting of the Power Levers doubles as your climb out power setting.  Once clear of the airports air space, make adjustments as necessary.
