Lukasz Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 Riccardo, this plane is well worth every $ spend on it. It may not have excessive eyecandy, but it has everything it should, creates a very strong immersion feeling and is easy on framerates. Also it has 41 liveries, right out of the box, including both Austin's planes. What can't be seen on screenshots are flight and engine model very close to the real thing (lean of peak operation!), Garmin 1000 glass cockpit simulation (not 100% accurate, but more than enough to fly and navigate, with many additional options and features), unbelievably huge range and endurance for that class of aircraft, lots of nice touches and fantastic, detailed documentation (POH alone is 163 pages long, took me two flights to read it, while cruising!).To be completely honest, there are very few, very minor bugs, that will be fixed with the next update, as far as I know. Also the panel seems to be optimised for 2D and uses click-regions for manipulating buttons and knobs, which results in some troubles with operating avionics, while flying in 3D cockpit (what I exclusively do). In few places click-regions are too small or not placed, where you'd expect them to be. Manipulators would be much better here, especially for G1000, but it can be walked-around with temporary disabling TrackIR and zooming view in, for greater precision. That said, I still recommend buying this plane. You will get used to it after few flights, and the experience is one of the best in X-Plane world. Overall, I'd note it at 4,5 on a scale from 1 (bad) to 5 (good), and I'm very picky when it comes to virtual aircraft I choose to fly. Quote
mraviator Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 I'd second the thoughts by lis. I've owned the Corvalis for about a month now and actually did not know about the 41 liveries...learn something new every day!I also agree with the strong immersion given the modeling of the systems and the Garmin 1000. I do wish a few minor functions of the Garmin would work (checklist, topo overlay), but ll in all it's well done. I also own the Falco F8 and do like the manipulators, but don't feel that not having them on the Corvalis takes anything away. The Corvalis is my go-to aircraft these days for any flights, and has been for some time. I just don't get tired or bored with it! Go for it, get it, you'll see. Quote
riccardo74 Posted June 25, 2010 Author Report Posted June 25, 2010 Thankyou very much guys, I've apreciated very much your detailed reviews.I'm thinking to buy it, even if I'd like to go more in deep with my MU-2 a bit more before passing to Corvalis.Which are the minor functions not supported by G1000?
