Just found this place which looks nice and friendly to newcomers so I thought I would register. I have had X-Planr v9 for a few weeks now and use it on both PC at home and on my Mac when I am travelling.

I used to be a very keen simmer in the past and I am pleased to say that the latest version of X-Plane has rekindled my interest.

So much to learn but being retired I am lucky to be able to devote the time to it. My first love is helicopters but will fly and enjoy anything when I get bored with the rotors.

I have no real world flying experience, I took a trial fixed wing lesson once but to be honest I don't think I have the stomach for the real thing, or the wallet :)

Anyway, all the best to all of you and thanks to whoever runs this place for making it available.

Hi, Shrimpy!,

Welcome to the forums! :)

That's certainly the beauty of flight simming! Great practice for real world pilots, fun for those that can't afford it in real life, or can't fly for medical reasons.

I look forward to hearing and hopefully seeing screenshots of your rotor adventures in the coming days. :)

Hi Shimpy,

Welcome to X-Pilot. I think most of us are here because this is a friendly X-Plane site. It is growing very fast largely due to the attitude and also the developers here that all share the same vision for X-Plane. Those are the two reasons that I'm a member of these forums.

Nice to see someone that also enjoys rotors! I know that X-Plane has continually been improving the physics of helos in the sim. Hope you can post some screenshots of your helicopter adventures in X-Plane.

Eric
