jzeitlin Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 Hey guys I know it is almost summer but I got a question about deicing in X-Plane. Has any one developed a plugin that simulates a deicing truck that actually deices? Jared 1 Quote
psanker Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 Well I know the FF 757 has a deicing truck. I have yet to determine if its deployment affects the wings' icing. As for the actual spraying animation, I have yet to see that anywhere. Quote
SwissCyul Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 I've been searching for that since months, but there isn't anyone who developed a plugin or something else. But to develop it is really difficult. X plane would need a custom icing simulation for each aircraft… Quote
jzeitlin Posted May 4, 2014 Author Report Posted May 4, 2014 But doesn't x-plane simulate icing? Quote
SwissCyul Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 Yes it does, but not directly on the aircraft. The icing is just "virtual". So you can't remove it when it's not existent… Like i said, simulation wing contamination is way more complex then it sounds Quote
michelpia Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 The SSJ Ramzess of a deicing truck (in principle) but I posted on their forum without success. This truck is described in the manual page 28 with image support yet. Of course, this truck could not be used at SSJ but so, apparently, it must be difficult to model because even when it is, it does not work. Quote
