SwissCyul
I just visited MAXX XP's page and saw a new thing called WinterMAXX. http://maxx-xp.comIt says there that it will be bringing snow to X Plane 10!!! Does anyone know more about this? (Release date…)I really want snow in X Plane, because in canada we have some of that in the Winter (Just had another snow storm dumping 40cm of white stuff in 12 hours). And if you look outside and have snow and you get into your flight simulator and you see everything green it just kills your wintery feelings Found some more pictures: http://imgur.com/a/1Ez94#12 Edited February 14, 2014 by SwissCyul

Im taking a break because of the constant real snow around here and focusing on finishing up Autumn. Both will be provided together and have some sort of plugin to load them depending on the time of year.... No worries this isn't a dead project, just a big one

marcc
Both will be provided together and have some sort of plugin to load them depending on the time of year.... In future versions of XP there might be no plugin necessary to have the seasonal textures in the right place at the right time. Quote from the flightsim.com interview with Ben Supnik: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?14518-Interview-Ben-Supnik-Future-Of-X-Plane/view/2 Many X-Plane users have longed to have seasons included in X-Plane. Is this on X-Plane's roadmap, and if it is, could you give readers an idea of when this might happen? We have talked about seasonal support internally, but we don't have a complete plan of attack yet. Realistic seasons for a global simulator is a complicated problem, and the additional changes to the artwork set would be large too. I think we will gain the ability to change textures with time and season in the engine in the next few patches, which will open up seasonal artwork to third parties. I don't consider snow to be a season - rather, snow is a weather effect, like rain and ice. We have discussed ideas for better snow and ice visualization; those ideas are typically shader-based and dynamic, not just new texture sets. I think we will get to weather effects before the seasons themselves. Edited February 15, 2014 by marcc
SwissCyul
But this can take years, so WinterMAXX is a good alternative

JohnMAXX
Ben Supnik = Difficult / JohnMAXX = Pease of cake Now who's the man!Now Tom thats not the case at all.....Much of my success depends on Mr. Supnik....We just have a different approach..... Tom Knudsen
Not an attempt to talk down Ben in any shape or form, that would just be silly and awkward. But in the spirit of developing something plausible like WinterMAXX is without a doubt in the true spirit of X-Plane.What I ment was that you give it a try and except a few things you make it workable too regardless of what LM says. If third parties did not seek to bend som development rules, we would be stuck on pretty much the default installation regardless of simulator. PS..If Ben or anybody els can help, well then It can only get better right! So keep it up and stick to the "pease of cake" mentality as that is the mentality of winners!
