Volume not changing?

Just bought the plane as a Hannukah present for myself. I've been loving it, you guys really hit it out of the park! one thing is, how do I adjust the volume of all the sounds in the plane? they don't seem to change with my X-plane main sound settings, and I cant find a menu in the planes menu. is this a bug on my end or how would I do this?

It's specific to ALL volumes at once, but on the left panel where the headset hooks up is a handheld volume control (or it looks like that). Mouse over it and the top click spot raises volume and the bottom lowers it. Best I can do. Circled in Red in the screenshot attached..

I can't seem to get this control to work. Looks like there's a power button but pressing it does nothing and the volume controls don't change anything either.

 

UPDATE: It did start working once the engines were started and the gens were online, but wouldn’t work with just battery or gpu power. I was hoping to use it to reduce the volume of the gpu. It’s way too loud inside the plane and the volume doesn’t change even with the cabin door shut.
