inktomi Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Hello folks..I've been wanting to build a plane for a while now, and in the interests of starting small - I thought maybe the Extra 300L would be a good first plane. http://www.extraaircraft.com/ea300L.aspWhat do you think?I think that this might be a good first plane because Extra has placed all the information (manuals, etc - http://www.extraaircraft.com/techserv.asp) on their site for easy access, and since it's an acrobatic plane there seems to be a wealth of information available online in the form of video and photos.I'd like to model the aircraft in Blender, and then possibly try for a 3d pit as well. Think a small acrobatic plane is too much for a blender noob? Quote
Cameron Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Hey, inktomi,I think it's an excellent choice of aircraft for a beginner! It's small, has some good learning aspects to it, allows you to dive into Planemaker and understand the flight model a bit more, and has a relatively small enough panel for you to get used to and understand the generics and how to customize them!If the information is so readily available, I say go for it and have some fun!
