Peter T. Posted July 25, 2013 Report Posted July 25, 2013 the 787 has a 2d cockpit, when you're not in 3d cockpit view.Just for some clarification and plans for the 787's development-There is still a lot of "stuff" to finish--3d cockpit (50-60% finished) -Exterior model (70-80% finished)-Cabin (50% finished)-Systems (40-50% finished)-Sounds (70=80% finished)-Animations (80-90% finished)
clavel9 Posted July 25, 2013 Report Posted July 25, 2013 Plenty of progress then, especially after the hiatus. Well done. From you list I assume all the flight testing of performance, handling, etc has been completed, or is this also ongoing?
bdmaster Posted July 25, 2013 Report Posted July 25, 2013 Needs a battery fire failure! (Ahem, Boeing--be a little more careful with who you contract to make your batteries! ). i think boeing is fine with whoever contacts to make batteries
Peter T. Posted July 25, 2013 Report Posted July 25, 2013 the flightmodel is possibly finished, I am not sure about that yet.
Michael_Chang Posted July 25, 2013 Author Report Posted July 25, 2013 peter's just about right, the plane has a lot of work to get done, but even on hold, the plane is progressing
maple-syrup Posted July 26, 2013 Report Posted July 26, 2013 Well I'm still patient but not patient enough it seems so I have FSX now and flying the TDS 787 until this one comes out! I can tell you guys though... It will be worth the wait if it's a conversion of it!
AF380 Posted July 27, 2013 Report Posted July 27, 2013 Well I hope work is progressing well on the 787. Ever since I found the 767 here, I couldn't believe it was free with all the detail in it, it was outstanding. Now my search continues for a freeware 787 and look, heres one. definitely worth waiting for, its gonna be the best of all.
maple-syrup Posted July 27, 2013 Report Posted July 27, 2013 Boing is having a ruff time... First the 787 and its problems. Then the 2 T7 at KSFO which one crashed and the other one descended way below the G/S!
Michael_Chang Posted August 5, 2013 Author Report Posted August 5, 2013 hey guys, i've been kinda quiet lately, the next month or so will be pretty empty in terms of development, nothing new is really gonna happen until my new computer arrives in early september, after that, the project will resume full throttle.
boingboing Posted August 6, 2013 Report Posted August 6, 2013 good to know! all the best on the continuation of the 787!
Peter T. Posted August 6, 2013 Report Posted August 6, 2013 in a parallel universe, I just known that my laptop harddrive has damaged so i cant really contribute towards the 787 project until its fixed... *do not buy HP* 1
79carboy Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 Buy Dell! Sorry to hear that the project won't be moving along as quickly as you want it too
IAmOldGregg224 Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 Buy Dell! Sorry to hear that the project won't be moving along as quickly as you want it too why should he because all of his work has been done on apple like a boss
Benedikt S. Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 Buy Dell! Sorry to hear that the project won't be moving along as quickly as you want it too Never, Dell Laptop have the Same Quality as HP, thrust me! why should he because all of his work has been done on apple like a boss Right, Apple Laptops are good for this Things but not for Gaming
79carboy Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 Any dells in my house have lasted for 10 years or more, and I recently just got a great new laptop from them! This is not a computer arguement though, Any development news?
Peter T. Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 Folks, There will be no news about development until Michael gets his new laptop, so please refrain from asking about any progress, because there is none besides the paints. The WHOLE aircraft will be remapped, inside and out, existing paints require only a little adjustment but thats it. the new remapping will allow higher-res textures. the systems will be completed, the animations will be completed.estimated release date is POSSIBLY (read it) at the end of 2013. its a possibility, and its estimated, if we didnt reach that date dont go bashing at us.
howardthepilot1999 Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 Never, Dell Laptop have the Same Quality as HP, thrust me! Right, Apple Laptops are good for this Things but not for Gaming My HP probook I am using for school (not X-Plane) is literally falling to 1000 small pieces, apple laptops are excellent for X-Plane 1
bdmaster Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 Screw Mac and dell get a $2500 razer blade pro it is built for gaming
79carboy Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 Screw Mac and dell get a $2500 razer blade pro it is built for gamingThere's the spirit, but again, this is not a computer arguement thread is it?
IAmOldGregg224 Posted August 12, 2013 Report Posted August 12, 2013 My HP probook I am using for school (not X-Plane) is literally falling to 1000 small pieces, apple laptops are excellent for X-Planeexactly plus there are amazing at work!!!
Peter T. Posted August 13, 2013 Report Posted August 13, 2013 My HP probook I am using for school (not X-Plane) is literally falling to 1000 small pieces, apple laptops are excellent for X-PlaneYour laptop isnt falling to pieces, as what ives seen....the laptop can run x-plane, but on mid-low settings, but thats xp9, xp-10 will become just another version of powerpoint.Im getting a new 27' mac with high end settings, just for the sake of developing, because right now my HP Probook wont suffice and frequently crashes requiring frequent fixes....almost 20,000 HKD, but hope its worth it.Lets get back on topic now.
AF380 Posted September 1, 2013 Report Posted September 1, 2013 Wow, not much action going on in here, so how goes the 787 project? =D
79carboy Posted September 1, 2013 Report Posted September 1, 2013 My guess is that school has started for him. I'm no expert though!
Michael_Chang Posted September 2, 2013 Author Report Posted September 2, 2013 I'm back at school yes, but still without a computer i'm really sorry guys, but don't expect much until I excitedly return in an all caps exclamation statement 1
boingboing Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 On an unrelated topic, I thought I should say congrats to Boeing for a successful first flight of the 787-9
