Michael_Chang Posted October 4, 2012 Author Report Posted October 4, 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ydn9O4vA-YQ&feature=g-uplPan Am 787 is being done, just because i love them <3 1
Mike Hotel Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Nice - the livery seems to fit the 788 very well.I would prefer the grime beneath the windows to be a bit lighter thou - I suppose todays virtual Pan Am is not that broke and can pay for cleaning their flag ships... What about an animated Pam Ann serving serving the drinks in the cabin?Cheers,Mike
Jordan P. Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 yeah i agree maybe you could make two liveries one with the grit and one without becuase it is a bit dirty for my likings.

Jordan P. Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 (edited) Not necessarily because if they were here today they wouldn't have done that because that would help them go under. But maybe they would have, but as i see it if they were doing that today still they would be unable to do that without going under immediately. I guess i will just edit it myself.EDIT: Also is there really that much wing flex because there is so much wing flex on your plane? Edited October 6, 2012 by Remlap

Michael_Chang Posted October 6, 2012 Author Report Posted October 6, 2012 i was running a pretty steep climb during the video, so it is pretty normal, you'd probably be flying at around 10 degrees pitch during takeoff, i was flying almost 45however the flex is quite sensetive, so we're tuning it a little near the higher reaches of the plane's pitch
Michael_Chang Posted October 6, 2012 Author Report Posted October 6, 2012 yeah, the team recognizes that the wingflex rate of aircrafts is quadratic, not linear, so we're working on tuning that out properly
Michael_Chang Posted October 11, 2012 Author Report Posted October 11, 2012 took the 787 out for some long range testing today, a 13 hour flight from london to singapore just finished, a flight from singapore to toronto is scheduled. excuse the livery change in the middle 3
Hampster Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 Already looks better than the payware 787, really nice!Be aware with your bumpmaps, although it may be fun to look at in blender, the 787 (especially the nose are around the cockpit and cone (hint, hint)) is smooth and sleek. No indentions anywhere. that grey line across the nose cone is not making the plane look realistic... Just my opinion scince you want super realism.-ham
Michael_Chang Posted October 12, 2012 Author Report Posted October 12, 2012 (edited) the grey line is where the radome and the nose cone meet, it is there, however we are workign on making it look more realistic. if you look here, the nose isn't actualyl as smooth as people think, there are clear lines and dents around the nose and windshield. thanks for the kind words and advice, we are going to make things better Edited October 12, 2012 by Michael_Chang
Jordan P. Posted October 12, 2012 Report Posted October 12, 2012 Is it just me or does the throttle quadrant look abnormally big...?
Michael_Chang Posted October 12, 2012 Author Report Posted October 12, 2012 you may be right, http://www.wired.com/autopia/wp-content/gallery/787-cockpit/ana787cockpit13.jpg i may have the throttles a bit too large, scaling them down
Michael_Chang Posted October 14, 2012 Author Report Posted October 14, 2012 (edited) here's another shot, i'm actually surprised that the plane looks so good even in low rendering settings.this one's from a trip between new york and paris, currently above the english channel. don't ask why the APU is on XD Edited October 14, 2012 by Michael_Chang 1
Michael_Chang Posted October 18, 2012 Author Report Posted October 18, 2012 so i've taken some time every now and then to start eicas construction, and so far, i have the actual computer system down, now i'm just adding the nice pages. here are three sample pages from the 787's eicas
tete Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 really cool, can't wait. You do brilliant work
Michael_Chang Posted October 27, 2012 Author Report Posted October 27, 2012 haha yup it is, it's a tough cookie, but we're slowly eating away at it.
Michael_Chang Posted October 29, 2012 Author Report Posted October 29, 2012 2 new liveries have been added to the fleet, each now has their own window plugs added and the JAL is getting it's interior put in, with brand new seats and a new OH bin configuration 1
Michael_Chang Posted October 29, 2012 Author Report Posted October 29, 2012 oh also, ground services are now functional in the 787 1
Michael_Chang Posted October 29, 2012 Author Report Posted October 29, 2012 This has a working pushback?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrbJVjt9AOUstill needs lots of work though 1
