Cameron Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 Captains, This will serve as a formal forum announcement that we have released the version 2.2.0 update for the RealSimGear G5 Instruments. All customers who have purchased the G5 Instruments up till now have been sent an e-mail by X-Aviation with complete instructions on how to obtain your update. We have made this a very simple process! For those that purchase the G5 Instruments from today forward, your purchased download will already be updated to version 2.2.0 for you. Please Note: This installer will update the Cessna 172SP, BN-2B/2T Islanders, as well as the Beechcraft Sundowner if you own any of those products. X-Aviation has updated our system to allow all customers to update with ease, regardless of whether you received an e-mail for the update! Here's what to do: 1. Login to your X-Aviation account here: https://www.x-aviation.com/catalog/account_history.php 2. Find your original G5 Instruments download and re-download the file. Larrym Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 I've installed the G5 version 2.2.0. It appears that I still need to have Rosetta running with X-Plane on the Mac M1. Is that correct? Quote

diamonddriller Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 This 2.2.0 OK with the Cessna 172 and the Sundowner, but try as I might, I cannot get the G5 Islanders to "say" that the G5 is installed. I get the red screens suggesting need to buy the G5! I've tried refreshing both the new X-Aviation plugin, as well as the Gizmo one (although the G5 is now absent from that, of course - and, only once, I got a little window advising me of that!). So the new G5 plugin works in 2 planes but not the Islanders! Log.txt Quote

diamonddriller Posted November 24 Report Posted November 24 Thanks Cameron. Nice to know I'm not completely stupid :-) I'm happy to wait till it gets sorted. Quote
Cameron Posted November 24 Author Report Posted November 24 @Larrym, I believe I have identified the issue you experienced with needing to run Rosetta. Please re-download and re-install from a fresh installer. Hopefully that fixes it! Quote
Larrym Posted November 25 Report Posted November 25 MBPro M1, G5 does not come alive, it is just black. I reinstalled X-Plane and then the X-Aviation G5 product. On the X-Plane Plugins>X-Aviation>Show User Interface page I see License successfully Activated. Before reinstalling I have tried booting without Rosetta and found I seemed to still need that plus Gizmo to have the G5 working. So I thought to do a fresh install. I reasoned perhaps the install of G5 version 2.2.0 did not succeed in properly removing things no longer needed (Gizmo?). I am only looking at the Cessna Skyhawk (G5). I have a blank G5. The license is successfully activated. Quote

To be clear, it really sounds like you may have done your re-install with the old installer prior to my changes. I must re-stress that you need to freshly re-download the G5 installer and re-install! The log shows you running the build prior to me making adjustments and telling you to re-download/re-install. You will need to login to your account, re-download the installer, and re-install. Failing that, completely delete the Cessna 172 G5 in X-Plane/Aircraft/X-Aviation and the installer will do a proper fresh install of that aircraft as well. Quote
diamonddriller Posted November 25 Report Posted November 25 The new Islanders solved all of the newer and minor older problems. Thanks Cameron! Quote
