New to the 737 Classic. so far everything works except toe brakes. all mapped correctly, plane flys well, but I can’t get toe brakes working. Have to map Hold Brakes L&R respectively to the toe brake axis. Toe brake works in all other planes.

Thats nice but dont expect any help without your log.txt after it happens . Standard practice. my crystal ball is broken.

Hello belevezero,

we do not have any dedicated custom code for the toe brakes in the IXEG 737. If they work on the other aircraft, they should also work on this one.

You have to make sure that the hydraulic pressure for the brakes is available, though. Also make sure that you have not selected a custom control profile for the 737 that might have different assignments for your pedal axis.

One surefire thing to check what is going on is to display the DATA OUT numbers for "gear and brakes" to the screen, you can then see the value for brakes go from 0.0 to 1.0 if you have mapped everything correctly.

Hi

I have a similar problem with the toe brakes, I have assigned "hold brakes regular" on my joystick but in the DATA OUT I only get 0.2982 instead 1.0 when clicking the brakes switch. How can I correct this?

Thanks Litjan, but using the hold brakes max also toggles the parking brake, so I assume there is no command to use the brakes, unless you are using a rudder with toe brakes?

There is a difference between the many (and slightly confusing) brake modes in X-Plane. We at IXEG are using default braking logic, the one thing we do is "fail" the brakes if there is no hydraulic pressure to operate them.

There are several commands available, be careful to note the difference between "toggle" and "hold". Hold usually means that you need to press the button or key to activate the brake, releasing it will also release the brake. Toggle means that a short key- or button press will change the "state", but keep the new state when the button or key is released.

It is true that the "toggle brake" command also doubles as the parking brake in X-Plane. This is - however - not too far from the truth for many aircraft, as the parking brake is just a mechanical mean to "keep the brake pressed down", or "trap the brake pressure in the brakes". So it IS essentially the normal brake, prevented from releasing.

In addition, in a lot of aircraft using the regular brake pedals will also release the parking brake. So if you use "V" in X-Plane to set the parking brake and then use your toe brake pedals (or any other brake command), this will stop the parking brake application and you need to use normal braking (or toggle it with V again).
