A world of grass

I received my copy of x-plane 10 an Christmas day, and went to install the global scenery right away. Once I finished loading the DVD's onto my computer, I went straight to YVR (my home airport) to check it out. when I got there it looked like this, but only in the Vancouver area. I did a brief check, but everywhere else in the world seemed fine. Roads will appear if set, but traffic, objects, and trees will not.

I tried reinstalling everything, I've tried scanning for damaged files, and tried changing the rendering options, but came up with nothing. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem yet, and/or how to fix it.

Hi Kesomir

You say to make sure it is installed outside of the 'Program Files', I have 64 bit version of Vista and because XP is a 32 bit program I have it installed in the /Program Files(x86) is this correct? I used to have it installed in it's own directory(XP9 anyway), but when I was running the demo of XP10 I read something about putting it in /Program Files(x86), so I moved it to there and performance increased somewhat.

Anybody else have any opinions on this?

Simon

Thanks for the support everyone.

To Kesomir, no. My x-plane folder was not installed within program files. I have it on my desktop

Simon (Simmo W), as far as I can see, the default scenery looks fine, as this screen shows. You can see pt. Roberts looks normal.

Shouldn't be in there really as it can cause problems with addons.

What I have is another folder called 'Program Files (x86)' on a separate drive (ie not in the protected program files directory).

That said if you have no problems, don't worry. If you do, you can just move the x-plane 10 folder and it will continue to run fine in the new location without needing to reinstall
