Tom3112 Posted October 5, 2023 Report Posted October 5, 2023 (edited) If selecting an approach that's not an ILS, the FMS approach page will still show the ILS frequency and course. Tested with multiple airports: LIBP: Frequency for PES VOR should be 115.9 and course 219, the ILS frequency is shown instead, IPS 110.7 and course 214. LIPH: Frequency for TVS VOR should be 114.35 and course 061, the FMS shows the TRE ILS, freq. 109.3 and course 065 LIML: shows ILS frequency with RNAV selected. Cannot use Delete on airport icao in the RTE page to delete the current flight plan When selecting a de-rated takeoff the engine instrument display still shows TO, the correct de-rate is however applied and shown on the gauge. mjrhealth Posted October 6, 2023 Report Posted October 6, 2023 @Tom3112 I guess the question is, have you updated the NAV data, it doesnt use XP 12 data yet. Its is from Feb 2023 Quote

Litjan Posted October 6, 2023 Report Posted October 6, 2023 I believe this is all correct. There is no info shown for non-precision approaches on the APPROACH page, only frequency for the ILS, if there is one. Even when not selecting the ILS approach. To delete the flightplan, enter a new ICAO into the ORIG field, even if it is the same one, it will delete the flightplan. If you select a TO derate, that is still considered "full takeoff power" - the engine is just rated at a lower thrust setting, but if you set 100% of that (lower) rating, that is still "full takeoff power" (TO). If you use the TASS function, you get a reduced takeoff power (R-TO). Quote

It might be down to a simple difference between FMC software version but I still find it weird that the FMC shows VDM and a wrong frequency right below it as that might cause some inadvertent mistakes in tuning the nav radios by the pilots. I know about entering a new ICAO but shouldn't the delete function work as well, or is that maybe just an NG thing? Quote
Litjan Posted October 6, 2023 Report Posted October 6, 2023 I can´t really say definitely how these things worked on the Classic, it has been 11 years since I flew one... there have been a few changes going to the NG, though - and there are also software differences in FMC versions. I will see if I can find out more, maybe looking at some videos I made back then, but we didn´t do many non-precision approaches. 1 Quote
