Fred28 Posted January 25, 2022 Report Posted January 25, 2022 (edited) Hello Despite using the check list, I regularly get a warning message during taking off. When accelerating, I get a red CONFIG STAB message until the wheels leave the track. Probably a mistake of mine, but don't understand what it could be. Any idea ? Pils Posted January 25, 2022 Report Posted January 25, 2022 How many units of pitch trim are you using? Quote
Fred28 Posted January 25, 2022 Author Report Posted January 25, 2022 I set the trim at 3 as mentioned in check list Quote
Pils Posted January 25, 2022 Report Posted January 25, 2022 Can you screenshot the checklist you referring to, please? Trim would usually be roughly 5-6 units for average weights. Quote
Pils Posted January 25, 2022 Report Posted January 25, 2022 Ok, I see where the confusion comes from. That doesn’t meant 3 units of stab (pitch) trim, it means set the 3 types of trim, i.e. pitch, yaw, and roll. 1 1 Quote
Fred28 Posted January 26, 2022 Author Report Posted January 26, 2022 (edited) OK . I feel really stupid Thanks for your help Edited January 26, 2022 by Fred28 Quote
JRBarrett Posted January 26, 2022 Report Posted January 26, 2022 As long as the trim is set within the green band on the trim indicator on the MFD, you will not get the config warning. To calculate the exact setting for takeoff you would need the official Bombardier performance manual, but in most scenarios a trim setting of around 6 units will work fine. 1 Quote

At minimum value, but value still written in green Quote

In any case, a trim setting between 5 and 6 seems to always work well. Quote
