Cptburgos Posted July 13, 2020 Report Posted July 13, 2020 Hello all I have a little question here, is normally that the FMS put a imaginary point into the legs at 400 ft AGL from the origin altitude?... If it is normal, i guess the FMS is calculating it wrong, look the picture. Thanks to all Quote
Litjan Posted July 13, 2020 Report Posted July 13, 2020 Hi CptBurgos, yes, it is normal for most departures that you load into the FMS. They create a "conditional" waypoint (in brackets), because the departure usually requires the pilot to fly straight to a certain altitude and then turn onto the departure route. Unfortunately the calculation of "WHEN" the aicraft gets to this altitude is still very crude and does not apply the correct elevation of the departure airport. It only calculates how long it would take (roughly) to fly rom sea level to 3570 feet (in your case), not taking into account that the plane is already at 3170 feet. This will be fixed in the VNAV updated. Cheers, Jan Quote
Cptburgos Posted July 13, 2020 Author Report Posted July 13, 2020 Thanks Jan, for the moment just erase that point Quote
