Chi Posted May 23, 2020 Report Posted May 23, 2020 Hi.. just bought the EXIG 737 a couple of days ago. I have done 3 test flights in the EXIG 737 to check out the plane out and get familiar with it.. The flight is just 800 miles from Istanbul to Baghdad.. I max out the fuel capacity (I read its full fuel range is 2,255 nmi) so the plane should do 4 hours flight at relaxed cruise speeds and so I do not have to worry about fuel while testing.... yet each time after less than even 1.5 hours into the flight the fuel tanks are empty and I have to either abort the entire flight or drop out of the sky.. how can this be happening? Thank you.. Quote
Litjan Posted May 23, 2020 Report Posted May 23, 2020 Hi, there could be several reasons. Landing gear still down, cruising at low altitude, wrong speed, not all tanks filled,... The plane will carry 16.000 kgs of fuel, that is enough for about 5+ hours of flight. Your fuelflow should be about 2200-2500 kgs/hour (both engines) with a speed of ca. 420kts. If you don´t get these values, you are doing something wrong :-) Cheers, Jan Quote

I think I would have noticed as I sit outside watching the pretty plane an awful lot. Altitude just 27,000 feet. Speed 220 o 240.. all tanks maxed.. Any other suggestions? Quote
Litjan Posted May 23, 2020 Report Posted May 23, 2020 (edited) Hehe, ok - so we have some experience to work with, here. Can you check the fuel flow while you cruise? Fuel levels? Make sure you have the right units selected, its a bit hard to see on the gauges if you are tanking Kilogramms or pounds. I think the fuel-flow gauges will still not change the units to lbs if you have that selected... You can display the "weights" and the fuel flow in the X-Plane "data out" tab (numerical display on screen), just to make sure. Thanks, Jan Edited May 23, 2020 by Litjan Quote
Chi Posted May 23, 2020 Author Report Posted May 23, 2020 I think I found the issue...I used the X-Planes flight configuration to fill the tanks and not the IXEG Ground services.. Now the tanks are FULL! Quote
Litjan Posted May 23, 2020 Report Posted May 23, 2020 Alright - yes, that is misleading. We do our own fuel system simulation and write our values to X-Plane - but it does not work the other way around. You can set the weight with the X-Plane menu, but not the fuel. It is best to set up both with the IXEG menu...and make sure that you either hit "Instant" speed...or wait long enough for the tanks to fill(empty) if using "Realistic" speed. Happy flying! Jan Quote
Chi Posted May 23, 2020 Author Report Posted May 23, 2020 Thanks Jan.. sometimes we learn by breaking stuff.. :)))) 1 Quote
