Zachary Jbara Posted April 25, 2020 Report Posted April 25, 2020 Hello all, hoping to get a hand with a few questions I have: (1 I am not seeing the beacons on the wingtips when the NAV light is turned on, even when using a proper external view. 2) My aoa indicator is completely blank and not giving me any readings. Any thoughts? Thanks so much! Quote
Goran_M Posted April 25, 2020 Report Posted April 25, 2020 (edited) For the lights, make sure you have HDR enabled in your Graphic Settings. If you are using 11.50, the AoA will not work, as it is not compatible with Vulkan/Metal. It's being worked on. Edited April 25, 2020 by Goran_M Quote
Zachary Jbara Posted April 25, 2020 Author Report Posted April 25, 2020 Thank you for your reply! I am using Vulkan so that makes sense, but I have HDR on for interior lighting in the Zibo 737 and Airfoil Labs King Air 350. Any other thoughts as to what may be causing no beacon? Thanks again! Quote
Goran_M Posted April 25, 2020 Report Posted April 25, 2020 Can you post a screenshot of the exterior with the lights on and a screenshot of the overhead panel? Quote
Goran_M Posted April 25, 2020 Report Posted April 25, 2020 All looks fine. You have your NAV lights switch turned on, and I see the green NAV light on the right wingtip. Could you elaborate further? There's also a Pulse switch and a strobe switch, but they're turned off. Incidentally, pressing Shift SPACE will store a screenshot of the sim in your Output folder. Quote
Zachary Jbara Posted April 25, 2020 Author Report Posted April 25, 2020 I will happily elaborate further! I thought that along with the navy light there was also a blinking red light that took the place of the beacon light. I watched a video of Jeff Favignano’s and his plane had a beacon light in the wingtip that flashed but that was also closed to when the plane released initially, I didn’t know if this was something they removed or not Quote
Zachary Jbara Posted April 25, 2020 Author Report Posted April 25, 2020 If you look at this video, see how is there is the white anti- collision light but also the red beacon on the wingtip? I don’t see the flashing red beacon Quote
Goran_M Posted April 25, 2020 Report Posted April 25, 2020 The way we have it modelled is if the NAV and STROBE lights are off, and the battery is on, the beacon will come on automatically. We are getting clarification that this is, indeed, how they are supposed to work. Quote
jfjoubert Posted April 26, 2020 Report Posted April 26, 2020 It's also interesting to see how the strobe light increases in intensity as the engine is starting up... Quote
Zachary Jbara Posted April 26, 2020 Author Report Posted April 26, 2020 Goran, you are correct: In the sim, the wingtip beacon lights turn on without any external lights switched on. With regards to the beacon lights being on along with the strobe lights, is that something that wasn't coded in? If not that's totally fine I just wanted to be sure my airplane was functioning as it should Thanks again! Quote

Still waiting on confirmation, but according to my notes with information given to us by Jason Miller (Co Founder of Foreflight and TBM owner...so not just any Joe Blow GA pilot ), this is how they are supposed to behave, and were subsequently programmed in.
