30%fps loss

I get 30+ fps when in the TBM 900 but when I pull out the MFD and PFD to display them on my 2nd screen, the framerates drop to around 20+ fps which is around a 30% fps loss.  Is this normal or is there something I can do to lessen the fps impact?
