I currently use the mouse to move the throttle on the right side of the h configuration- to introduce fuel on start, etc. However, I would like to get away from using the mouse and keyboard. Is there a way to use a button to get the throttle to work on the right side of the h? Can I use a different axis (mixture?) for that side?

John.

John,

checkout this thread.

there is a lua script that works that assigns the function to the mixture to go from cutoff all the way to flight idle. Then you need to assign a button or key command for the generic thrust reveres in order to get the throttle to drop into the taxi and reverser range.

I had to scour multiple forums and sites to understand what I needed to do.

If you have SPAD.neXt you can also get your throttle to enter beta/reverse range by assigning the command at the desired position of your axis thus eliminating having to press a button.

Yes I have Spad.Next but my problem is accessing the right side of the h - the cutoff and low idle detentes. I think I got the answer above.

Well I am hoping that I can just assign some joystick buttons in native XP. For me the simplest solution is always better. I am trying not to use FWL as I find it affects my frame rate and not in a good way.

If buttons are sufficient for you then you don't need FWL or Spadnext. Just assign a button to the mixture up command and another button to the mixture down command. Using these two buttons you will then be able to control the right side of the throttle from cutoff to flight idle and back.
