Scout98 Posted May 9, 2011 Report Posted May 9, 2011 Don't know if this will help anyone, but x-plane was crashing for me every time I tried loading the plane. Then I realized I had forgotten to uninstall the hardware tester. that did the trick
HeartofDavid Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 Well i guess i have found my root of all evil. I totally forgot to take out a plugin XPUIPC which i use to run an acars system for a virtual airline. So far so good without it in. I reinstalled to correct the other install problems. But as of now that was the culprit. So i shall do a test flight to be sure. But i guess XPUIPC will have to be added to the crash listI also have the same problem when trying to use it with Air Hauler which is the whole reason I bought the CRJ-200. ha ha Looking forward to it getting fixed! :-)
fat-strat Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 I have tried everything, including a fresh new install from the disc, and from X-Plane Updater Mac.Still can't use the plane. Crashes every time I load the aircraft. X-plane 9.69Mac OS 10.5.8NO installed 3rd-party plugins-Log.txt (attached)Log.txt
philipp Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Log.txt shows nothing unusual. Please post the crash_log.txt (from X-PLane mainfolder). Also the Crashdump might be helpful. To get this, click "Report" when the "Application has crashed" dialog pops up, then click "Details" and also post this detailed report here.Philipp

fat-strat Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Did you run the hardware test?Yes. It was positive - the plane should work.

philipp Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 I got positive reply that the CRJ is running well on 10.5.Is there any OSX update you didn't install? Can you make sure you are running the "latest and greatest" version?Philipp
xfan Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 I have many problems with your CRJ200, I feel like an early beta tester! here is one of them:after loading the CRJ, if I select another aircraft, it loads normally except if that aircraft is the X737, then X-Plane crashes. Here are the last lines of the log.text :[CRJ] Loading navdata.[CRJ] 10613 airports were loaded.[CRJ] 7856 ndb were loaded.[CRJ] 4289 vor were loaded.[CRJ] 6069 ils were loaded.[CRJ] 202244 intersections were loaded.[CRJ] 8365 airways were loaded.HASP USB-key message: hasp_login: no driver installedHASP USB-key message: hasp_login: no driver installedXHSI: custom pilot DataRefs initializedXHSI: custom copilot DataRefs initializedWARNING: texture Aircraft/Perso comm-Jet/Boeing 737-800_x737_v4_2_2 !!/737_icon.png has a size that is not a power of 2; it may not render correctly.Loading airplane number 0 with Aircraft/Perso comm-Jet/Boeing 737-800_x737_v4_2_2 !!/737.acf.Fetching plugins for X-Plane:X-Plane 9.40:Aircraft:Perso comm-Jet:Boeing 737-800_x737_v4_2_2 !!:pluginsBase livery: X-Plane:X-Plane 9.40:Aircraft:Perso comm-Jet:Boeing 737-800_x737_v4_2_2 !!:livery path: Aircraft:Perso comm-Jet:Boeing 737-800_x737_v4_2_2 !!:liveries:Continental Airlines:Livery Path (relative): liveries:Continental Airlines:Livery Path (absolute): X-Plane:X-Plane 9.40:Aircraft:Perso comm-Jet:Boeing 737-800_x737_v4_2_2 !!:liveries:Continental Airlines:conf:x737.cnfComparing with normal loading log.text, The crash seems to take place when X-Plane tries to initialize the X737 plugin (yes, it is located in the aircraft folder, not in the resources/plugins folder)If I delete the vascore folder from the plugin folder, the problem disappears, but of course the CRJ200 loses most of it's functionalities.First time I encounter a problem when loading the X737 (or any other aircraft).Next test:I leave the vascore folder out of the plugin folder, I open X-Plane and load the X737, no problem. I then quit X-Plane and put vascore back in the plugin folder. I launch X-Plane which should open and automatically load X737. Crash! Conclusion : there is a conflict between the X737 plugin and the CRJ200 plugin. There are also severe reverse thrust and AP problems related with The CRJ200 plugin, but these are for other threads...Considering the number of defaults I keep stumbling on, I am afraid that you won't have a quiet night sleep for a long time. Here are some details on my system :MAC PRO 6-core Intel Xeon westmere processor. RAM 8 Go. MACOS 10.6.7No problem with hardware test.X-Plane v9.68Good lock and congratulations for this aircraft, when finished, it will be amazing.

Cameron Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Conclusion : there is a conflict between the X737 plugin and the CRJ200 plugin. It's only been published everywhere, including here: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php?topic=2111.0There are also severe reverse thrust and AP problems related with The CRJ200 plugin, but these are for other threads...I suggest you read the topics rather than starting new one's. All of this stuff has pretty much been addressed.

philipp Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Okay, do you have any development tools installed, that might cause a different libstdc++ is in the runtime linker's search path?Like, do you have macports, fink, or homebrew installed?Do you have a custom installation of Qt?Please open the Terminal, navigate to the CRJAvionics folder and post the output of the following command:otool -l mac.xpl(the character behind the minus is a lowercase L, not an I).Philipp

I searched macports, fink and homebrew - didn't find anything. Custom QT? I've got QT Pro, with Flip4Mac installed...Although, while in Terminal I do see an option for Homebrew. In Terminal, > Shell > New Window > Homebrew As for using Terminal, not sure what to do here as per your instructions. I've got Terminal open, and if I enter 'otool -l max.xpl' it says command not found. Can you please clarify exactly what I need to do to. Screenshot of my CRJAvionics folder attached. Dave12345 Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 I'm having a similar issue. I have x-plane v9.5x something original on store bought package. It loads fine, but I get an error that the CRJ aircraft file is corrupt and it will not load. I updated to v9.69 and now x-plane crashes to desktop. I un/re-installed both programs and I don't have any planes/plugins other than the defaults. Also, the hardware tester said that the crj will work and I uninstalled it prior to installing the above. Thanks for your help.Core2duo e68504 gigs ramGeForce GTS 8800 with latest drivers
Japo32 Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 well.. lets wait Philipp, that won't be able to answer until Sunday I believe, but with my little knoledge in programming, I would always install over a new demo of X-Plane and see if you have the same problem. But Dave please post your log.txt. Thanks!

Philip, can you give me an update as to where you are in the troubleshooting process? Is there anything else I can provide you with? I am still waiting to hear back about using Terminal as you instructed me to do so. Please help.
