Dr Bombay Posted September 12, 2019 Report Posted September 12, 2019 I love this plane. but there is one big problem for me in VR. It is very easy to inadvertently click on the PFD or MFD panel. When you do that, the large 2D panel pops up right in your face. it takes some effort to close it. Is there a way to disable the popouts? or direct them to the physical monitor screen like my other airplanes? Quote
Goran_M Posted September 13, 2019 Report Posted September 13, 2019 Can you post a screenshot of what it is you are seeing? Quote
Dr Bombay Posted September 13, 2019 Author Report Posted September 13, 2019 It's pretty easy to reproduce. Get in the plane in VR and click on the PFD, MFD or PFD2 screens. The 2D panels popout and get in your face. The autopilot and controls for MFD also popout. While useful in a display monitor, for VR these 2D screens do more harm than good. In Xplanes Cirrus 50, for example, these displays do not popup in the VR. (they open on the regular display). Here's another post about it. http://forums.x-pilot.com/forums/topic/16523-vr-pfd-mfd-any-other-pop-up-blocks-view/ Another airplane developer (epic e100) added an option to disable g1000 popups Snippet from changelog... "Added option to disable G1000 popups (stock or custom) - request from VR users." https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/172033-g1000-edition-v325-available/ Another post about this: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/171272-g1000-popups-are-buggy-and-other-thoughts/&tab=comments#comment-1595925 GREAT PLANE!!!! skiselkov Posted September 15, 2019 Report Posted September 15, 2019 Good point, we'll add the option as well. Quote
stealthbob Posted September 21, 2019 Report Posted September 21, 2019 (edited) Just got a Rift S and have to say its bone chilling to be in this plane in VR I mapped pretty close all the flight controls to my WortHog HOTAS so I fly with the manual throttle and yoke, use the mappings or most buttons and controls and use the virtual pounter for what I am not mapped. The one thing that would be great is to interact with the PFD/MFD popup screens in VR controls but be able to move it over to the side or even a couple of inches away from your face. That way they can be used or disabled if the user wants. If dynamic movement is not in the cards perhaps an adjustment to the default position? All it needs is to be a bit furthur away from the face when it does pop up. Thanks EDIT Disregard, these pop ups are moveable. hover the controller over the top bar when it turns green pull the trigger hold and move as desired. RIP the rest of my day now...I will be blowing up the Hobbs on this plane Edited September 21, 2019 by stealthbob 1 Quote
