TMV45 Posted March 4, 2019 Report Posted March 4, 2019 Hello, I've an issue with the starting cycle. Whenever I load the TBM, I get an initial hot start the first try I go through the starting procedure. Even when the ITT is below 0 at the start. I've the screen warnings on that give me the warning and I had regular fires. However, when I do the motoring procedure with the subsequent start, it usually starts correctly. So, aparently I'm doing something wrong even though I do follow the checklist and documentation. Who has the pro tip? Quote
xpst Posted March 5, 2019 Report Posted March 5, 2019 I had this a few times in the beginning too. I changed or recharged (don't remember) the battery. Never had the problem since then, so make sure the battery is full enough, or use a GPU. Quote
RobW05 Posted March 5, 2019 Report Posted March 5, 2019 And make sure no residual fuel is left in the combustion chamber. Quote
Panxua Posted March 7, 2019 Report Posted March 7, 2019 Answer may be in the shutdown procedure. When at the parking position before shutting down, first put the lever on Flight Idle, bleed switch off, time one minute min, then low idle for fifteen seconds before cutoff. Starting the engine for a new flight is usually easy. Check temperature in the green sector during all starting procedure, if not, fuel cutoff immediately. Quote
