McDaniel Posted December 16, 2018 Report Posted December 16, 2018 Hey there I really enjoy this plane, need to learn a lot! I was flying a short distance, around 30 min and landed and got diner. When I reloaded Xplane and the beauty, the ITT rises without me doing anything, no battery, just the crashbar up, what I am missing??? McDan out Quote
Goran_M Posted December 16, 2018 Report Posted December 16, 2018 Unfortunately, there's not enough to go on. Are you saying that once you reloaded and turned the battery on, the ITT just rose? What temperature did it get up to? Did you shut the aircraft down properly when you quit after the 30 minutes? Quote
McDaniel Posted December 16, 2018 Author Report Posted December 16, 2018 Yes I did, or is there some special procedure to shut down? The temperature was about 50C when I entered the aircraft and climbed to around 155C....Go figure Quote
Goran_M Posted December 16, 2018 Report Posted December 16, 2018 It's possible it just "remembered" the last temperature you were at, and set it after loading. I'm not 100% sure, but I will look into this one. Quote
McDaniel Posted December 17, 2018 Author Report Posted December 17, 2018 No problem at all, I am very new to xplane and this baby is a joy to fly! Thanks McDan out Quote
cmbaviator Posted December 19, 2018 Report Posted December 19, 2018 i think its normal, because when you shut down the engines, it will of course decrease the ITT but the Combustor chamber is still hotter than the ITT and will exchange heat, so the ITT will increase until a thermal balanced is set between the ITT and the chamber and it will then decrease toward the outside temperature. I wouldn't be surprise that after shutting down the engines and power up the aircraft 45 min after, that the ITT will still be hot and increasing. Next time, after shutting down the engine engines, display the engine temperature (TBM plugin menu), you will see that after a couple of minutes, the ITT will rise slowly until the temperature balanced is achieved with the combustor chamber.
