MaidenFan Posted February 13, 2011 Author Report Posted February 13, 2011 Okay, I looked at the other liveries and I found that the left side area is a small segment at the bottom of the picture. I attempted it and here's what I got........ Quote
MaidenFan Posted February 13, 2011 Author Report Posted February 13, 2011 Man, that looks great. I think you got the colors down better. Quote
MaidenFan Posted February 13, 2011 Author Report Posted February 13, 2011 Send me your e-mail and I'll send it to you.winslowphoto@yahoo.comAlready got it from PM. Thanks. Quote
Simmo W Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Great results Rush! A good start, making mistakes is all part of the learning process, don't I know it! As long as you learn from them, you progress. Cool to have Steve's help.I've solved my own little challenge. I've got photoshop elements, amazing value for the $50 or so it cost, I'm getting used to its interface. But it's missing the one feature I need, replace colour with Alpha. So I searched for GIMP's alternative and it's as easy as heck!http://docs.gimp.org/en/plug-in-colortoalpha.htmlSo the below screen shows (from left to right) the final 'dirtier' door, the default door and the raw Ambient Occlusion image I was able to strip using Gimp and layer over the default. Yeah, the effect's subtle, but I think it looks more 'real' and weathered - glad it's possible for the future. Now I've got some serious materials learning to do in Blender, as I think that's the way to go Quote

You're right, having Steve's help was great, and I probably would have had a tougher time without it. I'm gonna try GIMP and see how that works. Now, I'm trying to make curved lines that are scene on most paint schemes, so that will be a nice challenge. Later,Rush Quote
MaidenFan Posted February 27, 2011 Author Report Posted February 27, 2011 I got bored today, so I decided to make a totally fictional Truth Aquatics livery for the BK-117. Quote
Oliver Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Looking good Rush. One thing, when you take a screenshot you can also use the hot key CTRL + . It will take the screenshot without having the X-Plane bar in the way Quote
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Not "CONTROL + ." but "Control" + "." Just in case that confused anybody. Quote
MaidenFan Posted February 27, 2011 Author Report Posted February 27, 2011 I tried the CTRL +, but that didn't work. Anyway, I added some stuff to it. I'm not finished, but it's getting better. Any recommendations...........? Quote
Oliver Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Hmm I'd prefer the rotors to be black but your repaint, your choice Quote
MaidenFan Posted February 27, 2011 Author Report Posted February 27, 2011 Hmm I'd prefer the rotors to be black but your repaint, your choice When the rotor is spinning, it looks black, so that's pretty much solved. Quote
Oliver Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Then I think it's ready for posting You should try uploading it to the org Quote
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Yeah, I think it's good. Quote
Simmo W Posted February 27, 2011 Report Posted February 27, 2011 Looks good Rush, you're starting a new fad for colour coordinated rotors! Quote
MaidenFan Posted February 27, 2011 Author Report Posted February 27, 2011 I went for a stealthier look. I'll upload both files to the ORG it it lets me (last time it wouldn't let me upload anything.) Quote
