Ok I am very confused, I have an I7 6700K @ 4.6ghz, GTX 1070, 16gb Ram @ 3000mhz and when there is clouds, My FPS goes from 60 - 70 to 23 - 26 ? Like Do i really have to up my system to actually run SMP 4.5 properly, Don't get me wrong, I love it, But the program is hungry aint it ?

I think you'll find that clouds cause an FPS hit even with default clouds. On your system and settings, I'd expect the FPS hit to be about the same between SkyMaxx Pro and X-Plane's default clouds.

Keep the cloud view distance at or bellow 10000 sq km. That's the only way to keep the frames at or above 30 fps, but even then the fps will sometimes dip bellow 30.

It is not exactly "correct"...even if all type of clouds are heavy on fps, with default clouds (or any manipulation of them) you can see clouds all over the horizon and on multiple layers but with less impact than with SMP. With SMP is practically impossible to extend the visual till the horizon. 10000sq is a good value, but is really really close to the aircraft.

The trade-off is the visual appearance of the clouds and the distance you want to see them, depends what you like.

What also hits a lot are the shadows and the reflections over water.
