vfsintes Posted January 9, 2017 Report Posted January 9, 2017 Dear Sir, I don't know why but during the day with OVC layer (here attached METAR, Meteo, etc) the runway is near to invisible, but just in the same position and night, runway and lights looks like no clouds. No idea why, here attached also configurations.... You can see at 12 am pic no runway but at 22h pic with OVC and clear (clear pic) is just the same........ Regards Quote
sundog Posted January 9, 2017 Report Posted January 9, 2017 Try switching from "solid stratiform" to "dense particles" for SMP's overcast representation. I think what you're seeing is just a limitation of how X-Plane draws lights relative to the fog effect inside "solid stratiform" clouds. Quote
vfsintes Posted January 9, 2017 Author Report Posted January 9, 2017 Here the same test, day and night and not really nice, worst in day and not ok in night. Same metar. Quote
sundog Posted January 9, 2017 Report Posted January 9, 2017 Lights do have a tendency to "punch through" haze and fog; it looks like you're just near the bottom of the cloud layer there. I'm afraid there's nothing you can do to change this behavior. Quote
vfsintes Posted January 10, 2017 Author Report Posted January 10, 2017 After checking and checking if I move fron NO HDR to HDR in XPlane config the problem disaapear, could it be related about how HDR works? Usind HDR I can see the same that during the day, it means nothing, all gray as expected. Regards Quote
sundog Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 I do believe X-Plane draws lights differently when HDR is on, so it would make sense that they would appear differently in that mode. Quote
vfsintes Posted January 10, 2017 Author Report Posted January 10, 2017 Ok, then, any ideo about how to fix it?? Regards Quote
sundog Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 There's nothing I'm aware of to change how that looks. You might look around for freeware add-ons that adjust the intensity of night lights, but I don't know of anything that does exactly what you want. Quote
Rusny Posted January 10, 2017 Report Posted January 10, 2017 You can use RTH to adjust the intensity, it works ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Or Ventura sky, actually I will recommend Ventura sky over RTH. 1 Quote
vfsintes Posted January 11, 2017 Author Report Posted January 11, 2017 Now all is Ok, problem related to NVIDIA config and HDR, if you get an GTX960M card you must set the NVIDA config to NO FXAA and use improve the application configuration and "voila" all nice and 25fps at the most exigent light moments (sunset, clouds bkn...)
