Jordan P. Posted June 26, 2014 Report Posted June 26, 2014 I have two questions, how did you make that curved duplication along that path and then bend it and the other question is how do you make the textures in blender like wood without making your own UV map? Amazing work,Thanks,Jordan Quote
Flying_pig Posted June 29, 2014 Report Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) For the curve as for as the texturing goes I used a Parametric normal that will usual give you a good texture if you want to be lazy. also I made this Edited June 29, 2014 by Flying_pig 1 Quote
Jordan P. Posted July 1, 2014 Report Posted July 1, 2014 Ah yes, the past week i have been working a lot in the new blender, learning it using his stuff, but i hadn't seen that one yet. Here are some of my results and i will try out those techniques, thanks! Is there any way you could send me a .blend file of the parametric texturing? (pictures won't work to big) Quote
Flying_pig Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 use imgur or something like it to upload it maybe? Quote
Flying_pig Posted July 4, 2014 Report Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) One of the advantages of having a crap ton of 3d models lying around Not quite there in america but freedom waits its 3,101,888 polygons and had to be rendered using a CPU because my GPU didn't have enough Vram (and its a 2GB card) Edited July 4, 2014 by Flying_pig 3 Quote

balle Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 I made a quick 'n dirty SR22 with some pretty questionable blueprints. I think it came out alright, but it's missing a lot. 7 Quote

OlaHaldor Posted August 25, 2014 Report Posted August 25, 2014 Work in progress for a Norwegian Train set mod, for Train Fever.First, a "what it might look like in-game". Followed by a couple closer renders where you can see some of the smaller texture details. This is a Stadler Flirt, in NSB livery. 4 Quote
OlaHaldor Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 Bogies and "rubber buffer" between wagons added. 4 Quote
czoog Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Work in progress for a Norwegian Train set mod, for Train Fever. Hi Ola, Modeling and texturing on these is wonderful, well done! Not to hijack the thread too much but do you play Train Fever? I am thinking of buying it when it is released. It uses the cityEngine SDK to procedural generate the buildings (which is something I would love to get x-plane to do). It seems like an awesome "game". -Chris Quote
OlaHaldor Posted August 27, 2014 Report Posted August 27, 2014 Thank you Chris! Unfortunately I wasn't selected to be part of the beta testing prior to release next week. So I don't have any more insight into the game than watching some videos of players on the beta. I have pre-ordered, so I'll be installing as soon as possible, give it a test ride, and read up on how to put mods into the game once there's any info on it. 1 Quote
OlaHaldor Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 I released this mod for Train Fever today. You'll find it in the download section at train-fever.net 4 Quote
andydckent Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 I released this mod for Train Fever today. You'll find it in the download section at train-fever.netTrainfever looks quite cool. Is it anywhere near as good as transport tycoon deluxe was though? I've been disappointed with every rail/transport game since then... Quote
OlaHaldor Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 It's the same core concept but executed differently. It's harder and more challenging in my opinion. The devs are dedicated to improve the game and add more stuff as time goes by. 1 Quote
