  1. Running version 2.0.1, most instruments have no lighting in the G5 variant "BN-2T Islander G5.acf" and the cabin lights don't illuminate the cabin.
  2. Night flight KORD to KMBS, few layers during climb and descent. About 4 times during flight the following occurred: - initially a very bright white outside the front windshield - 15-20 seconds later the cockpit interior was suddenly as light as daytime (see picture below) - Outside the front of the plane it went back to normal dark, while the interior remained bright - About 2 minutes later, the interior went back to normal nighttime lighting The interior and overhead lighting controls were not changed during flight. First couple of times I've seen this occur (both today), through well over 100 flights. Any guidance regarding what this might be? Or possibly it just needs a restart of XPlane.
  3. Hi all, I recently purchased the ixeg 737 classic, and I've been blown away by the realism, I think it's better than any pmdg or ifly products. The one thing I have not been able to figure out so far is the cockpit lighting. I can't turn the intensity of lighting down at all. I've seen in several screenshots and videos where the entire cockpit is dark (dome light off), with only the instruments, switches, gadgets, etc illuminated. I've tried turning off the dome switch on the very top of the overhead panel, and very little changes. I also had all of the flood lights on the instrument, bottom and overhead panel OFF. When I completely shut off the power, the cockpit is completely dark and I need to use the flashlight, so I don't believe it has to do with my screen brightness.. Is there something I'm missing here?

  5. Hello, can i help me with lighting on B733. How is procedures for specific lights during different phases(taxing, on runway etc.)? which light have i use. when i walk into the aircraft? when i preparing aircraft? before start up? after start up/before taxi? taxi? before taxi on the runway/before take off? after take off/after passing 10 000ft? Cruise? Descent/after passing 10 000ft? Short final? After landing/vacated runway? Shuting down? Thank you very much. Martin.
  6. Troubleshooting a '75 Cardinal 177RG sim I've tweaked for years. Its instrument lighting has become a real challenge; some gauges backlight correctly while others with the same type (generic or legacy) settings and overlay treatments don't. I have a single bus electrical system with 31 amp base load, single instrument lighting rheostat (0) which functions correctly on instruments which do backlight. "Dark' instruments are linked to the same bus through the same rheostat. Generic example: my generic, multi-rotary dual needle FF/MP gauge (with backlit base layer and backlit pointers) works perfectly. However a generic rotary version of the VSI done with the same photoshop layer editing (base layer saved with alpha, overlays flattened) won't backlight. Legacy Example: the legacy Turn and Slip indicator overlays backlight correctly, set to additive and tied to bus 1 with knob 0. The legacy (VVI_2000_GA) VSI from the XP 172 is too - but while it works fine on the 172, it won't backlight on my 177RG. The standard XP altimeter and the airspeed indicator have the same problem. Generic rotary bugs I've made for these do light up - the gauges stay dark. I've perused the wiki and other online resources, and have tried editing and resaving base layers with alpha, overlays flattened. I'm now out of ideas, and would appreciate further hints or troubleshooting links. FYI, I have some "glass" instruments including the 430 and AI/HSI (trying to replicate my Aspen) which all light up, but I don't know what their connections to other instrument lights could possibly be.
  7. Is it a X-plane limitation why clouds in general cannot look darker, almost impossible to see at nights when there is little to no lights source? The clouds are easily seen at nights which isn't very realistic in most cases.
  8. Hey everyone, as you know, I have a 787 project that is about 60% done right now. However, while planning for the future of the project, I arrived at a snag in terms of design. The 787 has many lights in various positions (one on either side of the OH, the glare shield, floods, etc...) and many of them overlap in a few places. My question is, what is the best way to render out these multiple light levels without having to create more objects? Thanks ~Michael~
