Hi everybody! I was wondering, how do you guys fly your approach? Do you follow the STARs all the time (Every approach)? When do you lower the gear and flaps? I'm still trying to figure out a "standard", as my approach procedures are a bit random from time to time. Usually I lower the flaps to 15 and gear out at approximately 2500 ft above the field (Or at the radio altimeter call out). After that I just slowly slow down to a speed I feel flaps 30(40) should be lowered, then slow to landing speed. But the same goes to flaps 1 and 5. When do you lower them? Towards the Final Approach Fix / Downwind & Base? I'm still learning and hope to get some good replies.

After testing during cruise flight "Mach Speed Warning test No2" which made flaps suddenly deploy to 30º position and subsequently crashing the Gizmo64, I exited X-Plane and reloaded. In the following flight and at reaching TOC the deployment happened again, this time without any intervention. X-plane 10.45 64bit Win 8.1Pro iXEG 733 version 1.06 downloaded with the interim hotfix zip.

Does anyone know how to implement LEF (Leading Edge Flaps) in Planemaker such as those found on the Super Hornet? Shows LEF on the left and TEF on the right.

I just installed the fantastic DC-3 I first thought that the flaps did not work but I did hear a quick "click sound" The flaps do work but at approximately 0.3 degrees per click. This means that I have to click the flap lever about 100 times .... not very practical. I rebooted the machine (Win 7 -64 bit, I7 with 16g mem, Nvidia GeForce 560 with 2G ddr5) but with the same results There is NO other software loaded on that machine besides, Xplane 10, winRar, winZip, Acrobat and a couple of xPlane utilities. Thanks
