  1. The R+P 777 is not all that accurately simulated. Not a 80 dollar add-on in my opinion. A lot of corners were cut on the systems and considering what I have found in short test flights I am not going to waste my time doing a long test flight for step climb performance. Sorry I value my day off from work more than that.
  2. Next time somebody posts " why is it not out yet" I think I will refer them to this post. Another example of what sets this product apart from anything we have seen for x-plane or quite possibly any sim.
  3. I am glad IXEG team is putting that kind of time and effort into this product instead of the AHHHH close enough approach many other developers have taken so far.
  4. Agreed. I am more excited about the IXEG project than the FSlabs airbus and the PMDG 777, I think this will set the standard for any sim. I think I have posted this before but I fly mostly FSX right now because of the lack of HI-FI planes in X-plane. I don't own the MOO maybe I should buy that plane since I have heard it's really good.
  5. That is why I am so excited for this add-on. We don't have ANYTHING like this for x-plane
  6. WOW!! stunning
  7. Sorry about that I misread your post. I agree the 757 is a simpler plane but I still don't trust the non navigation systems to be accurate. When the IXEG plane comes out you will see what a difference it is and in my opinion how much better the simming experience is when you fly a plane that you can grab the real life manuals and items work as they should. Their is a reason the IXEG guys and other companies like them ( PMDG, FSlabs, Majestic) take YEARS to come out with a plane.
  8. I think PMDG would disagree with that statement. They posted months ago that the 777 is incredibly complex to simulate and that redoing the 744 ( the next airliner project) would have been easier to do first. If you correctly model the modes of the FBW system I bet that gets a bit more complex. How about even modeling the basic systems like the engine control system properly so that when you enter a assumed temp the N1 does not increase LOL. I had a engine fail on the thing and my other engine was stuck in derated mode because EEC alt mode is not simulated. You could never use the QRH with this plane... I tried on a engine failure after takeoff. The sounds... The gear sounds and apu and flaps are WAY WAY WAY over done, they sound in the cockpit as if you are outside the plane. To me that kills the immersion. Also whats up with the taxi light that does not turn with the nose gear. This is a 80 dollar plane. Waiting for the IXEG plane... Until then I will enjoy the lovely majestic Q400 I just got for FSX... I am not spending anymore of my money on planes from R+P in my opinion the 777 was on the level of captain sim, with the R+P plane being better than a CS plane in the navigation system and how routes are drawn on the ND ( BTW I have to give credit there.. that is well done) The reason for my comparison to CS is to me they have the same philosophy, pump em out fast, recycle the systems
  9. Will not buy, was not impressed with the system depth of the 777 and judging by the speed of another major airliner release this plane will have major holes in system simulation as well.
  10. You can register on the forum on the flyjsim site. but I am 99 percent certain that it does not have a fmc. Very few planes in X-plane have a FMC. EDIT... I just checked the forums No FMC.. it does have a stock xplane FMC but this is a get in and go plane. What your paying for with this plane is the eye candy and better FDE.
  11. I may be wrong but I think the flyj q400 is lite.... No FMC
  12. NICE! Thats what I am looking for..
  13. All I need is a time machine so I can get to release day now
  14. They have never made GA planes for any sim dating back to FLY! The beech 1900 is really old now. I am not sure why people think they need to rush and get a simpler plane out.. they can learn in house on a plane that fits their product line better and just not release until ready. They probably have another solid 5 plus years of FSX development left before the user base will go away to X-plane or what ever sims come out. They have a solid market in FSX right now, so they are not in a position where they have to release something for x-plane to make payroll. X-plane is most likely the long term post FSX plan for PMDG, they appear to already have chosen to go that route instead of developing for P3D BTW speaking of that.. I think they made the right choice.. I would not trust lockheed to stay in the sim buisness. Some of these FSX devs that are putting all there eggs in that basket ( ORBX) are putting themselves in a position to be one board meeting from being SOL. Well out of the JS and DC-6 I would think the DC-6 would be the most likely. With that said.. Take a look over on avsim at the general PMDG forum, you will see the development threads at the top. At one point a DC-6 thread was there but it did not get nearly the interest as the 777 threads so it's kind of disappeared. A market does exist for those older classic planes but it's really a limited limited market. I agree with you that you can make a profit and a plane like the DC-6 but it's not the type of plane that I would pick to enter a new market and WOW potential new customers.
  15. I believe the dash-8 has been quietly cancelled. Have you seen the previews for the majestic q400 for FSX... OMG is all I have to say. Deepest systems simulation to date and the graphics are stunning. I know there is a dash 8 for X-plane but it's a very lite simulation of it. This is why I feel the IXEG 733 is so important. This will be the first TRUE deep simulation for X-plane. I am really curious to see what plane they are converting. Maybe Cameron and some other the others here is right and they will do something like the j41 just to get started. I just can't see them converting a plane that old but we will see... Either way it's good to have another quality developer working on X-plane.
  16. The J41 was probably only made for MSFS because the owner of PMDG flew them IRL, The DC-6 was intended to be a special project to keep idle team members busy when not needed on mainline projects. Plus they both are rather limited appeal planes. I doubt they will expend the resources to convert those. The B1900 same thing. This leaves the 744, md11, NGX and 777 744 is too old. The MD-11 while groundbreaking when released was kind of a sales disappointment. So I doubt they will go there. This leaves the 737 and 777 and they said they switched at some point. Maybe they intended on going 777 but decided that the 777 with it's fly by wire modes and other difficult systems was just too much. Plus the R+P 77 is already on the market and while the PMDG plane would be better the X-plane market is too small to support two 777's so they switched to the 737 OR Maybe they intended to go 737 but saw the IXEG plane and decided that the NGX would need a lot of work to be at the same level and decided to take the R+P plane head on. Either way I bet they enter the market with a bang. Even if it takes a few years.
  17. I guess I am alone on thinking the PMDG will hire the people needed to port their existing 737 to X-plane. Who knows maybe they saw the previews of the 733 for X-plane and decided to go all in and are porting the 777 they are working on. I just find it really hard to believe that they will want to enter a new market with a lite product, or a product with limited appeal. If I was running PMDG I would wait until I had the right people on staff and the expertise to do it right and release a product that says who they are. As I said in another post it's not like they NEED to release for X-plane right now, it makes better business sense to take their time and release a product that will build on the reputation they have built up in the MSFS world. Correct me if I am wrong but the 733 is IXEG's first release as a group right? Did they decide to start with a small prop plane... NO they took years and built a plane that puts them on the FS map. I don't see why people think it's impossible for them to do that. PMDG employs some of the most talented programmers in the FS world, and each release they have had was ground breaking in the MSFS world at the time of it's release. I bet they strive to do the same in X-plane and I doubt they will settle to be a also ran just to rush into the market
  18. Sounds good Tom. As long as I have the performance charts I am happy. a QRH is nice too but I can probably find one if it's not included.
  19. Out of all the projects on the horizon for either sim the IXEG 733 is the one I am most excited about, and that is saying a lot considering the next generation of FSX add-on's is almost here (FSL A320, majestic q400, PMDG 777) PMDG's last offering (the ngx) is a few years old now and FS tech is advancing fast, so I would be surprised if the IXEG plane is not better considering the detail they are aiming to simulate to and the talent on that team. With that said PMDG has a reputation to uphold they CAN'T enter the x-plane ring with some weak half baked subpar effort... They don't have to rush into X-plane, The core business for them right now is FSX, at somepoint they have to switch to X-plane to remain viable as FSX becomes older and older and eventually less people will use it. For right now they can hire the right people to port planes and work on learning the skills needed, and it's not like the current PMDG staff is incapable of learning X-plane.. True, PMDG will not rush a product out, so it could be quite awhile before we see whatever plane thy choose to release.
  20. I think that they will wait to release until they have the right people on staff to compete with the best x plane has to offer.. the ixeg 737 is a 300 the pmdg would be a ng... hell in msfs there is three ng's out
  21. I agree with you that there is room for both. They are not competing for the same market anyway. buyers looking for ultra realistic systems and cutting edge graphics will buy the pmdg plane and others rather fly a lighter systems ( light the fires and go) freeware model
  22. it also has very deep systems... nothing currently out for x plane comes close
  23. I am going to put on my flame suit for this one, but I have the 777 and I would put it closer to captain sim than PMDG. To be a PMDG plane it would need a lot of work... My guess is it's the NGX that is being reworked for X-plane. For a few reasons. 1. When PMDG enters the market it's going to be with a splash.. Just releasing something simple to get a product out there is not PMDG style. They rather take longer and have it be the right product and be the best or right up there with the best offered for X-plane. 2. As far as tubeliners go it's a pretty straight forward plane to simulate, I am not saying it's easy.... just straight forward compared to what PMDG is doing with the 777 3. It's the RIGHT plane, soon we will have a great top notch 737 classic but there is nothing out there for X-plane NG's that come close to the NGX
  24. Hi Morten, The developer of topcat is working on a flight planning tool right now but once they finish that product they plan on adding profiles for topcat, Maybe they will add a profile for the 300, I would imagine you have all the data they need to add it. If they don't add it then the tool included with the plane would work a lot better than using the 700's profile. One more question. What documentation are you planning on shipping with the plane? Thanks, Mike
  25. Hi Jan, It looks to me like the autopilot functions are the exact same as the NG.. I am really interested in seeing how your plane compares to the PMDG NGX ( my current favorite sim plane).. I know it's different sims and I think your Plane might be a even deeper sim than the NGX from what you and the others at IXEG describe. Either way this looks to FINALLY be the plane X-plane really needs to pull the systems junkies like me from FSX to X-plane full time. Ohh I have one question for you as well. I like to use a program called topcat that is the closest thing simmers have to a performance calculator. There is no profile for the 737-300 so my question is would the performance profile of a 737-700 with 22k 7b engines be close to the 300 with it's 3b 22k engine. I like to use this tool to figure out flap settings for takeoff and derate. I
