  1. Hehe, a new 'what did you' craze! Very good Lis! Showoff... The A10c is bad enough to learn, mastering that ugly sucker is a loooong time away.
  2. Thanks, my target was moving so I manually released my little package, my very first attempt at a moving target, harder than it looks. I used a mk82 air, with a parachute to float it down gently to prevent me blowing my plane up as well! Still, I missed a little:
  3. great pic Lis, did they detonate? ;D Yes, something in the form of review is coming up, you might be quite surprised. You sound heaps more experienced in pc combat sims than me though, I have NONE, so my review won't be in comparison to other combat sims. It is heavy on the pc hardware. My i7 920 and gtx275 setup is pushed, still, even on medium settings it runs well. And it only uses 2 of my 8 virtual cores, so I can process Sony Vegas videos at the same time as running it. Crazy.
  4. Hehe, wrong forum, but it's so good I just had to share!
  5. It doesn't bother me, but yes, that blue livery was definitely a 21st century look, as against nasty 70s. At least they didn't try this:
  6. "New Sunrise livery honors cultures where those colors mean prosperity & good luck"....read China
  7. No idea, but interesting spelling error in the ad!
  8. Tell me this doesn't make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up!
  9. How did it look? I'll watch later, on my flash capable pc. Now I'm dreaming of a formation flyby of that and the 787, both in the blue livery. Wow.
  10. Was just sent this, a cliche ridden leaked internal presentation. Now we KNOW MS Flight is not going to be worth even smelling A scary future if it was true. Bejewelled anyone?
  11. Finally. I bequeath my Sketchup tutorials if u want them. Exporting from SU to collada and then into Blender is easy and flawless from what I've seen.

    747-8 launch

Boeing twitter feed has details of first flight your afternoon. http://mobile.twitter.com/boeingairplanes/ That livery, from the outside, is starting to grow on me. Although it could be splattered with paint of various shades of brown and still look gorgeous:
  13. Great strategy Tom. You explain things well, so hopefully the scenery creation business can be further demystified, it's not that hard after LOTS of research.
  14. Thorough explanation Tom! I might have had my head in the sand, has this pretty major change, particularly use of blender for fine 3d placement rather than OE, been announced over at the org? Glad I now know Blender basics, although I am on a little 'scenery break' right now. At least people can do their Blender prep. ahead of release.
  15. Hehe, just woke up, I'll set them straight
  16. I'll be the first to bag it, hated Vista, but 7 is much better. You can spend too much time fixing weird things. Still, I choose to put up with it- $ wise the best value, plus great for sims like this, A-10c Warthog, incredible and hopefully a glimpse of xp10. If not, I'll see some of you in the ridiculously easy to use online battles! Still can't start from cold & dark but almost there. Actually I can start, but I'm yet to get the comms radios and mission data uploads right. I love the hum of its fans, evil sounding creature.
  17. Sounds good Tom. Can't wait to see the new tools and features for scenery design. By your comments, it sounds like we'll be pretty much starting from scratch building this world, meaning that 9's scenery will look out of place/not as good as 10s? Or will good 9 scenery still fit in ok, except for having to correct the .lit texture reference, for global lighting? Or the new tools will speed up creation, like the cool looking terminal facades? So many unknowns I know, but gotta ask, as I find that scenery creation is a real huge investment in time right now. In fact I'm now taking a break, to do some.....flying.
  18. Last year, we heard 'at the end of the year'. This year, we hear the same. Let's hope that Ben is right. I'd previously pessimistically said out by July, now I'm worried! http://www.x-plane.com/blog/2011/03/x-plane-9-68-beta/
  19. +1 Too nice Rush, I ain't seen a response though.
  20. Yes, hope it's short. In fact knowing him, he's probably on the phone for 'asylum' in Monaco right now. .Next.
  21. UN security council just voted for it. Another dictator down.
  22. Great detective work Kesomir! There'll be too many good planes soon, what a problem. And that's on top of the much better default ones
  23. Hopefully, to counter all the bad things happening lately... I saw previews of this new A10c simulator, looked amazing and from what I can tell, in a smaller scale, a preview of things to come in xplane 10- very plausible environments, gorgeous dynamic lighting and shadows, as well as clouds you only dream of. It really pushes my i7 system, but it still runs ok with gorgeous effects. No wonder, since it's a deep sim with 46 steps for startup. Just some quick snaps: Why does it feel sluggish? Every darned switch works: Can you believe that sun!:
  24. Hmm Kes, I'd guess he's talking more about the planes, which he says are increasingly easy to move between sims. Can't wait to see Bus Simulator in xplane!! Yes an interesting yr, see my next post..
  25. Hehe. Might have to translate- Myer and David Jones are Aussie Department Stores, like Maceys or Harrods I think. Barmen.
