  1. ah Ola I'm glad it's not just me'! Why is it that when I scale a building in Sketchup at, say 10 metres high, in the sim it exports at bloody 1metre or so! You are right, scaling is a challenge.
  2. Thanks Simon! Great review! Ta P, I myself have 5 hrs to go before I get to fly her, not counting!
  3. I present our early preview of the 'Royal' Duchess, a beautiful craft indeed. Thanks to Goran for giving more background to the recent improvements that he and TheoG have implemented. Simon http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/08/20/duchess-teaser/
  4. Goran, is there a toggle to remove the yoke like the Sunny? Chip wants to know...
  5. fantastic 'pit. Night shot, Night shot please!
  6. posting this on Chips behalf, he's very impressed. thanks to all for posting pics so I can enjoy vicariously until sat. hurry up with a vid Mr Pilot! http://www.flickr.com/photos/48232585@N00/4909480352
  7. of course I'd love Melbourne ymml, but I know u gotta sell more than 15 copies! why not check with Eric, Honolulu or any busy airport in the new realscenery areas would sit very nicely and have broad appeal.

good one lis, now HE should join the airforce, talk about twitch reflex. now, fellow motorheads and little boys who've never seen this, see a classic, beautifully filmed and edited road going version of insane, risk taking, no room for error and don't do this at home (well, maybe once, in a '74 ford escort through the Acheron Way). watch for when the sun hits Ari's eyes. love that howl... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3368948773832597270
  11. have to agree Mr Africa, I managed to get in some building maker time today. Its very quick for square buildings but sketch is better for more complex items. basically building maker only works really well when all 4 or more sides are unobstructed, very rare in this day and age! once u know what u are doing it's pretty quick n easy, to produce varied little structures. For medium quality and above, sketch is the go! here's a little one I tried one day I'll try blender, su is only a buildup. as I've said before, texturing is the real hard and unsung bit, those guys are the best. I bought Theo and Goran's Duchess ;D, but can't try it till Saturday, such torture!! Please anyone, shower the forum with screenies of those dials and interior for me'!
  12. Tom, my first comment that I thought the latest xplane products were BETTER than Carenado was quite prescient eh? that looks stunning, rivalling Nils work there, and certainly making the FSX stuff look like a 2d panel.

crazy vid. imagine the faces of the passing motorists. would be handy in melbourne or sydney's tunnels, rigged up to a paintball gun..
  14. great news for the growth of xplane! Never thought I'd say this though- from the screenshots and my memory of having their Seneca II, the latest high quality offerings -'cough' sundowner, falco etc - well exceed the quality of Carenado (other than their cool surprise and delight features like opening doors and all those compartments).
  15. great news. I finally had a quick go, did an apartment in 4mins. copyright prevents wide distribution, again if only we could use freely....or I'd pay to use if better integrated. show screenies!
  16. Thanks everyone, a lot of it was Javier's writing, I like his writing style. Worth buying the Javelin just for the PoH, love that sense of humour!
  17. I second that. Loved the interview. It's cool to hear how Javier got into x-plane and how he goes about his work with Anton. OK, I've booked the black-ops CRJ with Sundowner backup, as well as the waterboarding facilities. Welcome to our nightmare Eric! I'll be in touch soon, but you won't know when, or where, it'll be over very quickly....
  18. http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/08/18/a-huge-thankyou-surprise/ ;) ;D
  19. Simon, I still hope they'll consider your e-mail. Thank you for sending it. Thanks Max. I too heard most of it (keep falling asleep halfway through for some reason). I received a nice email from Eric, but 'he' knows my limited time and timezone. it seems quite u.s. centric, I suppose for practical reasons. An experienced real flyer would really balance it out. Hehe, I know Gorans a prolific talker! uh-oh, I've just had another idea.....when I first got into xplane, I immediately searched for an xplane podcast. cmon guys, one of u can do it! Pleeeze keep it to 30 mins though
  20. I don't either; it seemed to me more of an honest mistake, not thinking it through. Or even just being in a hurry when posting the link, and forgetting to include the full URL to the review page. Been there and done that myself. On the other stuff... yeah, I'm aware of the tension between the .org and other sites, and that may be behind some of the reactions over there. I can confirm that Chip is an interweb Luddite, he admits it, so I'll be giving him a severe talking to, to make sure he knows u can copy the direct link to the blog article. . just wait till I get to him! Can't get good help nowadays..
  21. Indi, what's that pic from? I hope not Flightgear :-)
  22. Thanks everyone for your messages, I'll make sure Chip sees them all since he's the one most personally affected by this, me a close second. rest assured I plan to keep it going, at least until xplane11!!
  23. sorry planes I don't have pedals. I have huge legs and the desk is too small and the wife doesn't want me' to dig a well for them!
  24. A very open statement from Chip and I. And you wondered why there aren't many reviews in the Xplane community.. http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/08/16/to-review-or-not-review/
  25. yep Eric, I got the email from the xplane newsgroup, I'm not that closely linked!
