  1. Hehe, Yeah I just tossed her up there to see this issue for myself. I normally fly under 15 thousand and have never seen this. This was mainly just to test something that was was told to me by a person that flys only heavies. Calling this realistic is a stretch by any means. I am just glad it's not my computer or graphics card doing this. Oh well back to my Low lvl flying. And thanks for the reply. BTW I placed the MU-2 up there using the map features.
  2. Just wondering what is happening here? I have never flown at 35 thousand before so this was the first time seeing this. I have world draw distance set on max and my other settings are one higher than mid range. Would there happen to be a fix for this? BTW I am loving that MU-2. (the 40% off made it even better)
  3. Its worth the money and is a joy to fly.
  4. Hey, thanks for the offer, but the guy i bought it from had the CD. It is amazing the difference from using the x52 to a yoke and pedals.
  5. Hello Steve, I dont believe I tried the adv tab for the buttons, I was trying to set a profile it up like my x52 setup. I may go the Adv button route and see how that works tonight. I am hopeing I wont need a plug in for it. Oh man I forgot the basics =). Windows 7 64bit / Pro flight Yoke / It is used, however everything works as tested in Prepar3D and FSX. Just trying to get my 3rd Sim up and running. (yes I am a Flight sim freak). I accually Live Stream Flight sims and do mini flight reviews and spread the word of X Plane 10. I have converted a few flight simmers to Xplane because of the Live stream. =) Thank you all for the replies, I just needed something to get me up and running fast.
  6. Some of the buttons do not work in the sim menu, Am I missing something? I just bought it and am looking for a starting point.
  7. Hello, Would anyone be willing to share a custom x-plane 10 pro flight yoke Profile? Thanks
  8. I damn near fell out my Office chair at work when I saw this.
  9. Did Brett S just defend X-aviation??? PS War Thunder is a very fun game =)
  10. hehe the biggest question is.... Wow! people are using windows 8? I just check the latest windows explorer with x-pilot and x-aviation and had zero issues.
  11. Overclocking is very simple now. I just would not limit myself for $30. 3.6 to 4.6 ghz will do wonders for your in game frames per second. I would suggest the ASrock extreme6 mother board, the 3770k, and 16 gigs of 1866. (great value for the money) Thats cool man, I go through youngsville on my way to work in New Iberia everyday. I try and avoid the Traffic of hwy 90. I am starting my flight training next month along with joining EAA 1490 out of KARA. Which happens to be the next airport that I will be releasing.
  12. Overclocking the 2nd and 3rd gen i7 chips are much easier and safer than 1st gen i7 and below. It is very safe to overclock. Now days you will have a very hard time destroying your CPU as they have an auto shutoff when the get close to vMax (max temp 100c). I remember starting to overclocking in 2000, I had to use a windshield defrost repair kit and a exacto blade to unlock my AMD cpu. and then work with about 10 different settings to get a stable clock speed. As the years went by it became easier and easier. My q6600 was OCed to 3.4 ghz (6 settings to mess with), my i7 920 was at 4ghz for 5 years straight and is still running (4-5 settings to mess with). The i7 3770k has only 2 settings to get a stable overclock, CPU multiplier and Cpu Voltage. I just put together my new system (3770k) and i have it on a 4.8ghz clock. The new Motherboards are designed with overclockers in mind now and can do the overclocking for you. (turbo boost) In fact, most mother boards, have presets that will change the clock speed and volts for you to get higher clock speeds. ie the Asrock Extreme6 has presets from 3.9 to 4.9 ghz. My settings are CPU multiplier = 48 and Cpu Voltage = 1.32volts. this give me a 4.8 ghz stable clock for everyday use. I would suggest an easy 4.6g ghz with a CpuM = 46 and cpuV= 1.3 volts Well worth the extra $30 bucks, to go from 3.6 to 4.6ghz. (easy and safe) Below is a good source of info on the matter and the best place to do research. http://www.overclockers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=2
  13. Thank you. Global lighting as far as no lights at the airport? This airport has zero lights aside from the taxi and runway lights. Everything was done in WED and this is my first completed airport. I am learning as I go and will update any airports I do. Thanks to everyone that took the time to answer some of my questions. Next Inline is KARA Acadiana Regional airport, New Iberia, La.

  16. Thank you, I am going to lighten the photo just a tad to blend in just alittle better. The airport has and very easy boundry that was screaming photo scenery. A perfect square with a ditch, field, and road on its sides. I was very lucky the x-plane 10 road matched excatly and even the road going to the FBO and hanger matched. I have another airport I started before this one, but I am having photo scenery problems. Acadiana Regional Airport (KARA). Which makes 3R2 My 2nd airport that I have made. My goal is to make the small airports in south louisiana. Frede has done most of the major ones. Infact his Louisiana airports are what inspired me to do mine.
  17. La Gros Memoral Airport - 3R2 This is a project that I am working on an hope to release it this weekend. It is my first released airport. I am kinda excited to see what people think. This airport is located in south Louisiana, just south of Crowley, La and west of Lafayette, La. I still have a few touch up items I would like to add and or fix, but anyway below are the screenshots.
  18. The 2 GeoTiffs need for this airport. Note that they over lap, this is where the black line is in the later photos. The PNG tiles made from the GeoTiff's The draped Poly that I made. The end results with the black line at the seam of where the 2 sets of PNG tiles over lapped from the GeoTiff's
  19. Oh I did make a draped poly with the imported images. I just placed all the tiles first then selected the area for the draped poly. Some of these tiles over lapped because of the slicing of the GeoTiffs (which also over lapped). I used 2048x2048 for each tile. When I experimented with a small area (single PNG tile) and did get it to work. It was when doing the draped poly spanning the 4 sliced tiles, which each one over laps, is where I am having the issue. Its probably something simple that I am missing. I will snap a screen shot tonight when I get home from work.
  20. I use an x52 and do not have this problem.
  21. Hey Chris, Just wanted to say thanks for your help. I have almost completed my airport. One very very important lesson I learned, was always use geotiffs for the overlays vs JPG. Right now I m trying to add photo scenery to it. I am not having too much luck with that. The problem I am having is the GeoTiff from the airport overlap, which in turn, causes the converted .PNG tiles to overlap at the seam of the 2 GeoTiffs when place in WED. Now, when selecting the area around the airport that I would like to creat the draped Poly, it shows black in some of where the over lapping .PNG tiles are. I will also post a photo of whats going on tonight. I have tried a few things with no luck, and now that I am thinking about this more today. Do I have to make a draped poly for each tile separately? Oh and I have read your guide over and over just to make sure I did not miss anything. With this porject, I now have a greater respect for scenery builders.
  22. The area is one of my favorite to fly over. I am currently doing hops around the area and exploring. You are very lucky to live there.
  23. Jrollon's Jetstream 32 - Scenery by Alpilotx - New Zealand pro PS- Sorry if the photo's are too big.
  24. Changing the water way numbers did not add it to the scenery when loading into x-plane 10. I need to do some research on adding water to the scenery. It seem that is beyond WED right now. The more I dig into WED the more I enjoy and hate it at the same time. Edit: As Ntr09 said. It seems you cant add bodies of water that do not show up normally in x-plane 10. Which is sad because it is a very active runway/sealane.
  25. Hi Chris, I did thoses steps last night and the seaway did not show, however I named the seaway 34w/16w. I will try to name it 34L/16R and will see if that solves it. 1 more question. I tried to make a taxiway with the polygon tool so I can use the different concrete textures. When exporting this, it caused WED to crash. So, am I correct in thinking that you have to use the Taxiway tool to lay the taxiway then come over the top with the polygon tool to change the texture to the type of concrete I want? I hope to get this airport finished so I can up load it for everyone to use. My final goal is do to the majority of the Heliports and Oilfield service airports in south louisiana.
