  1. @vdrummer4 thanks for the info and video. I just thought it was strange for a checklist to specify turning the battery OFF (and the GPU not holding the power on), but then not turn the battery back on again. Not a real life pilot here, so was just following what was written, but obviously it makes sense to have the battery ON.
  2. Thanks @Coop. At what point is the battery turned back on?
  3. @vdrummer4, thanks for the tip. Indeed I do see the voltage rise to around 29 volts when the GPU is connected. I didn't see that version of the checklist in the aircraft documentation. The checklist that comes with the aircraft states in step 35 of the Cockpit Inspection (see below), to turn the battery switch to "OFF", however when that is done (even with the GPU connected) everything shuts off. In fact, there is nowhere else in the checklist after that where is says to turn the battery switch back to "BATT", so not much can be done with the aircraft in that state. In other aircraft that use external power, the electrical buss at least remains partially on with the battery off. This workflow seems a bit different. Feels like the GPU for this aircraft is a big alternator to keep the battery charged. Just my guess
  4. The external GPU is a great addition! I was able to start it and turn the connection switch on and get both green lights, however I don't see any indication of any external power being present in the cockpit. I looked all over the cockpit and didn't see any switch inside to connect external power. Am I missing something?
  5. Agreed, it would be nice. I was playing around with the units in the trainer and saw that in that environment everything was linked, but not so in the aircraft environment.
  6. Is it possible to link the left and right units so that when a flight plan is loaded into one, it can be seen in the other as well?
  7. Half-baked update? I flew this 737 today and even with all the X-Plane 12 updates since the IXEG's last update, it still flies nicely. Maybe a few quirks, but certainly not "half-baked". It followed my flight plan perfectly, LNAV, VNAV, Auto Throttle and Autopilot all worked as they were supposed to, landed nicely (although a little firm), but in all was a good flight and good experience.
  8. I hear that too. I just ignore it, but it would be nice if it didn't make noise when no noise is expected.
  9. Thanks! The FMOD sounds are great, and now I am not hearing the harsh wheel/suspension sounds that I was hearing before. The sounds linked to the environmental volume seem a bit loud and overwhelming with that volume at full (especially the low end rumblings), but it's good with the environmental volume turned down a bit and doesn't affect the other awesome sounds.
  10. What you're saying absolutely makes sense. I tried this again with a completely vanilla X-Plane 12 installation with only this aircraft and the required Gizmo64 plugin. No other aircraft addons, no custom scenery, no other plugins, and still I get this harsh sound. Did a little testing with the sound sliders: Turned all sliders off except the "environmental", and I could not hear that harsh sound, but I could hear other sweet sounds of the wind going by. Not sure if I heard any faint sounds of wheels rolling on the ground though. Turned off the "environmental" slider and turned up the "external" slider only. Along with the engine sound, I could partially hear that harsh sound. Turned off the "external" slider and turned up the "internal" slider only. This is where I hear the majority of that harsh sound. Since I hear this mostly from the interior slider, is it possible that there are sounds from the suspension (if you even have that in your sound bank) as heard from the interior?
  11. Just downloaded version 2.0.2 and sadly the wheel sounds are exactly the same. No improvement whatsoever Also, turning down the environment sound does not reduce the wheel sound at all.
  12. Thanks for the reply. Glad to hear that it is being addressed.
  13. I love this aircraft and the way it handles. The revised engine sounds are awesome in version 2.0.1. However, intermittently, the sound that the wheels make (especially at higher speeds) becomes brutally harsh, even on grass surfaces. On asphalt/gravel, it reminds of dragging an old "Radio Flyer" red wagon, with hard plastic wheels, across a rough asphalt or concrete surface. On the grass, it sounds like rocks are constantly hitting the bottom of the aircraft, and at higher speeds, sounds like firecrackers going off nearby. And also that wheel sound abruptly cuts of with no sense of fading when the aircraft lifts off the ground. For me, this really kills the overall immersion of flying this beauty. Is this a known issue, and are there any plans to enhance these sounds to make them more realistic, or behave better? It actually sounds quite nice when it doesn't happen, but unfortunately it happens more often than not for me. 457834720_X-Plane2023_10.23-22_10_03.06_001.mp4
