CSL (M20P/M20T) - Mooney Ovation/Acclaim
View File
This is a 3D model of the Mooney Ovation or Acclaim for use when flying in online networks like VATSIM. This will be visible for multiplayer traffic flying type code M20P or M20T.
Downloading and Installation Instructions:
Download and then extract the M20P folder into your pilot client CSL folder (X-Plane 11/Resources/plugins/xPilot/Resources/CSL/Bluebell/ for default installs) to see this model. This model includes animated lights (Nav, Beacon, Landing, Taxi), retractable gear, rotating prop, and flaps. There are animated speedbrakes however there appears to be a dataref issue (these don't appear to animate in the sim). I hope with the XP12 Mooney release we can have that fixed!Please do not resell this work.

I did a little bit of checking to see what xPilot client was reading, what the Challenger 650 was writing back to X-Plane, and what it wasn't.
This seems like inconsistent xPilot behaviour. It appears to be reading the wrong dataref. For gear and speedbrakes it reads from cockpit2 (the switch position), but for flaps it reads from flightmodel.
"sim/flightmodel/controls/flaprat", DataRef::FlapRatio
CL650 writes to "sim/cockpit2/controls/flap_handle_deploy_ratio" which seems more logical given the other datarefs.
These datarefs are written by the Challenger 650, and as far as I can see, read by xPilot. Could be an xPilot bug if not being sent to the libxplanemp datarefs.
"sim/cockpit2/controls/speedbrake_ratio", DataRef::SpeedbrakeRatio
"sim/flightmodel2/gear/tire_steer_actual_deg[0]", DataRef::NoseWheelAngleThese datarefs will need some changes on the Challenger 650 code to "send" back to X-Plane such that xPilot can then read.
"sim/cockpit2/switches/taxi_light_on", DataRef::TaxiLights,
"sim/flightmodel/engine/ENGN_propmode[0]", DataRef::Engine1Reversing (default MD82 makes this parameter "3" when reversers are deployed)
"sim/flightmodel/engine/ENGN_propmode[1]", DataRef::Engine2Reversing
I've pushed a request to xPilot to see if we can get that flaps dataref looked at!

Just a quick follow up on this. It is certainly less flickering happening, but its not perfect!

I think I have a fix if you're running a 5000 or 6000 series card! Older drivers that aren't cleaned out could be causing you issues.
In the Discord we were discussing this, and it was mentioned that AMD thought it wasn't effecting the newer generation cards with RDNA Architecture. I did a quick search and found that the 5000 series has RDNA and the 6000 series has RDNA 2. Another helpful user asked when I installed Windows, as there could be remnants of older drivers that could be causing issues. I've had my RX 5700 XT for about three years, and have used the AMD driver removal tool a couple times recently for other issues. I did a quick search for drivers using pnputil -enum-drivers in the command screen and sure enough had a lot of similar driver numbers showing. I ran a Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode (This one specifically) and then just reinstalled the AMD drivers. Now when I load in using Enhanced Skyscapes I don't get a flicker on any screens or the tail.
It does however flicker when x-plane loses focus, and I haven't done any flights to test over an extended period of time! Hopefully this is helpful!

Hello!
This is probably low on the priority list, but I'm working on a CSL for the Challenger 650 and I'm having trouble getting xPilot to send data on some of these datarefs (which is in turn causing issues with some animations i'd like to do). If we can research this and resolve I can get additional animations for the plane accomplished for traffic in online networks!
libxplanemp/controls/flap_ratio
libxplanemp/controls/spoiler_ratio
libxplanemp/controls/speed_brake_ratio
I'll scour the xPilot code and see if I can find what datarefs are being looked at and post here.
Thank you!
It looks like "sim/flightmodel/controls/flaprat" and "sim/cockpit2/controls/speedbrake_ratio" could be the culprits

Challenger - CSL Model
This is a 3D model of the Challenger 650 for use when flying in online networks like VATSIM. This will be visible for multiplayer traffic flying type code CL60.
Downloading and Installation Instructions:
Download and then extract the CL60 folder into your pilot client CSL folder (X-Plane 11/Resources/plugins/xPilot/Resources/CSL/Bluebell/ for default installs) to see this model. This model includes lights (Nav, Beacon, Landing), retractable gear, and rotating engines. There are also animated Flaps, Spoilers, Speedbrakes, and Taxi Lights, but there appears to be some dataref issues (these don't appear to animate in the sim). Hopefully we can have HotStart resolve with future updates! I do hope that we see a proper CSL done by Hot Start and the goal wasn't to replace that, but in the meantime I hope the community can enjoy this work!This model uses some parts from the XCSL C750, which were shared with permission. Please do not resell this work.
Thank you!

You are going to have to uninstall Enhanced Skyscapes.
The other option is just disable it in the plugins menu after load and the flickering will stop.

Takeoff with pitch mode (not v/s or flc) and use the VS up/down wheel to set your climb angle down to 10 degrees after you have cleaned up the plane after takeoff, then dial your speed up! This works well for me.
-
Agreed its not very often. Also popping out a flight display window and then closing the popout can reset.
-
For me the flickering comes and goes. I've found that a view change (exterior then back to interior) can "reset" things for you so that the flickering may go away. I've also found that manipulating screens can cause the flickering to go away.
