Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport - KDFW2013
Mario Donick commented on briangodwin's file in DSF Scenery Packages

Yeah, I've already guessed that it's custom, but where did you get it? Done by yourself? Converted MSFS scenery?
-
Do you use any cloud addon? And where did you get the industrial buildings?

Very good video, as always. However, it might make people think that XP has indeed all these beautiful filters you're using, and when they see the actual XP, they might be disappointed.

The last leg I did in the tour was from Phuket to Adelaide, and there I'm still standing. Took lots of pictures, but somehow that long flight made me a bit tired of using airliners. I will certainly continue the tour, though!

Then I consider myself lucky ;-) I actually tested the same flight with 2 other planes (the Carenado A36 and the Jason Chandler's old, but still nice Cirrus SR22), to compare how the GPS CDI behaves. Exactly the same.
-
Just a short report: I manually entered this flight plan and flew it, and I did not recognize the behavior described above. Course on CDI and MFD were always correct, both when I stayed on course, and when I deviated from it.

Yeah, but it should show the heading currently flown (if heading not changes) and not a wrong number

File Name: EDCX Purkshof Airfield File Submitter: Mario Donick File Submitted: 25 Jun 2013 File Category: DSF Scenery Packages X-Plane Version(s): X-Plane 10 I noticed that I did not yet upload this scenery here (only at the "other" site). So, here it is. No changes, if you already have the previously released EDCX 1.2. 1. INTRODUCTION This is my first scenery. It's a loose representation of the small glider and GA airfield Purkshof some kilometers east of Rostock, Germany, near the Baltic Sea. Purkshof is the home of Fliegerclub Rostock e.V. (Flying Club Rostock). The position and size of runways and taxiways is more realistic than X-Plane's default data. (But please see the "known issues" section in this readme). The position and type of buildings is mostly plausible, but not realistic. Only X-Plane 10.20 standard objects, OpenSceneryX and RUScenery are used (plus 2 glider objects, see credits below). 2. REQUIREMENTS Besides X-Plane 10.20, you'll need the following libraries: - OpenSceneryX - RUScenery Please make sure that you have installed the most recent versions (as of April 2013). 3. INSTALLATION Put the folder "EDCX Purkshof" into your Custom Scenery folder. For the best experience, I strongly suggest to also download photo scenery for this region, as the airport has been created with photo scenery installed. You can get photo scenery for Rostock and Purkshof at http://zonephoto.x-plane.fr/dl.php?f=ZP10/zPhotoXP_%2B54%2B012_16_Rostock_XP10_2012-09.7z I also suggest to install FlyJSim's "Enhanced Runways HD" 1.20, which you can get at http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=16270 The grass strips look much better with this package installed. 4. KNOWN ISSUES None. 5. CREDITS - airport layout based on the default EDCX layout - airport layout corrections by Mario Donick - grass by Simon W / capnsully (http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=12621) - objects taken from OpenSceneryX and RUScenery - tools used: WED and OverlayEditor - ASW-17 and Pilatus glider static objects by Manfred Gross (Magross), http://www.xplane-gliders.de/ 6. CHANGELOG v1.2 - fixed: X-Plane took RWY 04 for RWY 22 and vice versa - made the grass areas less rectangular - more accurate placement of runways to fit orthophotos better - more accurate placement of runway markings v1.1 - added grass to airport borders, runway borders and taxiway borders - added some more trees - added exclusion zones for some nearby villages (to avoid OSM building create a city feeling) - made some changes to the caravan site (near the club building) - added another ramp start (Rostock Flying Club) v1.0 - initial release Click here to download this file

Interesting. Following the flight plan was never a problem for me; the plane arrives safely at its destination. However, I noticed that sometimes the "Turn left/right to XXX° NOW" is somewhat unprecise, e.g. it sometimes happens 2 or 3 times before (only 1 or 2 nm) the actual turning point (but only there the plane turns, which is correct). I also noticed that, when no turn is needed, because the next waypoint is straight ahead, it still shows the "turn now" message. Maybe this is related to this CDI bug.

Eh... Post deleted. It was referring to a year 2010 posting.

Oh! Okay! Thanks for clarification! (When) will you release a bug fix?
-
I don't want to say I'm 100% sure for all situations -- but after some flying the 1.5, I think the problem described in this thread has been fixed. Can anybody confirm this?
-
Well. Just yesterday 10.22 beta 1 has been released, trying to fix the Lua memory issues on Windows 64 bit. A beta 2 will follow soon, because the 1st beta crashed.

Thank you for this update! -

Where did you get the model, and is it good?
